Tuesday’s Torch 585

April 28, 2020

There are some things that I have repeated many times since I have been doing these messages.  Probably more times than anything else has been that with God all things are possible.  While lots of messages have dealt with overcoming difficulties in life I have tried to share messages of help and hope.

We have discussed how our God is a God of more than enough and that the Savior has paid for not only our sins and transgressions but that he felt our pains as well so that He knows how to help us and understands what we are going through at all times, because he felt them himself.

Tonight’s message is a short one.  I’ve had people ask me how I can continue to have hope despite all of my challenges and circumstances.  In this world I can point to my wonderful children and other family members that are a tremendous blessing.  From a spiritual side of things, knowing that we have a loving Father in Heaven and that his Son is our Savior is amazing.  Where is the source of the knowledge that brings me such hope?  The scriptures are a large part of that.  Romans 15:4 says:

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”

Hope is what we are to have as we patiently learn and study the scriptures.  I love the wording contained in that verse that says “comfort of the scriptures “. It’s a very simple promise that we will be comforted if we turn to the scriptures, we could all use more comfort, I know I can.  Sometimes as I’ve prepared these devotionals I feel a bit selfish, because I feel like preparing and sharing them is helping me far more than it could possibly be helping you.

So I would like to issue a prayerful challenge and request.  I’m sure many of you are already studying and reading as much as, if not more than me, if so keep it up!  Keep receiving all the hope that you’re gaining.  For those who aren’t reading and seeking these things out for yourselves in the scriptures, give it a shot.  Don’t just read, but really feast on the scriptures.  If you do, you’ll understand why I and so many others preach so often about hope and how all things are truly possible with God and through Christ.  You will come to realize more fully that our God is a God of more than enough.  I personally know that is true and I share this message humbly in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Tuesdays Torch has been viewed in countries all across the globe through our website and social media. We pray the words of every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. To partner with Tuesdays Torch and help expand our reach please contact us. We pray the Lord will touch our readers. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God. Please share testimonies, feedback or encouraging words by email at: tuesdaystorch@gmail.comwe enjoy hearing from you. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website , by email, Facebook and Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
