Tuesday’s Torch 574

February 11, 2020

One of the songs sang to me as a child and one I sing to my own children goes like this:  “Jesus loves me. This I know. For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to him belong.  They are weak but He is strong.  Yes! Jesus loves me.  Yes! Jesus loves me! Yes! Jesus loves me. For the Bible tells me so.”

Those words I know are so very true.  When I was a small boy I was subject to several absolutely terrible recurring nightmares that would cause me to scream out at night.  And I can remember my momma singing those words to me to comfort me and help me get back to sleep.  Now is my turn to use it to help my own children get to sleep.  I am ever so grateful that they aren’t subject to the sorts of nightmares I had, and I pray that they never have to deal with that.

This week is a happy week for some and a very difficult one for others.  As everyone reflects on love and relationships there are many who are blessed to have plenty of that in their lives and others who are struggling with the absence of that for many different reasons.

While this brief message will not make any feelings of loneliness or sadness go away, perhaps a little perspective can go a long ways to helping.  You are loved.  Each and every one of you.  By many people that maybe you don’t even know love you.  And you are infinitely loved by your Father in Heaven and by your Savior Jesus Christ.  Read the scriptures, the scriptures tell you so far more completely than I ever could.

Any who are suffering can clearly look up or recite to themselves John 3:16.  And read about the mortal ministry of the Savior.  If you’re struggling to feel loved, please know that you are so loved, that God sent his son to live a perfect life and die for you.  And Jesus Christ was willing and did in very deed do that for you, because of how much he loves you!  And make no mistake, while it was an infinite atonement and makes it possible for all to be saved, it was done for each and every one of us on a singular level as well.  You were and are worth the price!

I will be having my fair share of difficulties these next few days, not to be depressing or anything, just being real.  But I will hold on to that shining beacon of hope that comes by way of my testimony in and of my Savior Jesus Christ, and of my loving Heavenly Father.  I will be forever grateful for all of my loved ones, all of my family and friends.

Truly as we reflect and try to count our blessings, we can feel happiness and joy even in the midst of anything that we may be going through that causes us pain.  Truly we may be weak in so many ways, but never forget that we are not alone and we can borrow the strength that we need from the Savior who stands at the ready to lend us that strength that we may lack by ourselves.

My prayer is that we may remember Him and we may all be healthy, happy and safe. And that we may all focus on things of eternal perspective and be uplifted and inspired to greatness throughout this next week. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Tuesdays Torch has been viewed in countries all across the globe through our website and social media. We pray the words of every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. To partner with Tuesdays Torch and help expand our reach please contact us. We pray the Lord will touch our readers. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God. Please share testimonies, feedback or encouraging words by email at: tuesdaystorch@gmail.comwe enjoy hearing from you. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website , by email, Facebook and Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
