Tuesday’s Torch 571
January 21, 2020
Today I would just like to share a really brief message. I’ve been dealing with a lot lately and as anyone who follows me on social media can attest, I’ve been struggling a bit, especially with anxiety. That causes me to want to know everything and be in control of circumstances that are beyond my control. Trying to make sense of things, and trying to figure out what I’m supposed to be doing. While thinking about tonight’s message I was brought to the following verses:
“For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
And further down in verse 31 is the following:
“If God be for us, who can be against us?”
Sometimes we each struggle with trying to see how things are going to work out. We try to make sense of why things are the way they are. We seek knowledge and want to know. But what we need to do is have hope, and be patient. Because if we see something, we don’t have to have hope or faith. So sometimes and maybe most times, there is going to be an unknown. So that we may show faith and hope for things to work out. The Bible says very directly in those words that all things will work together for our Good if we love God. And if we love God we will do good things and live as righteously as we can.
I also know the verses are true that sometimes we have no clue what it is we should be praying for? I have my own ideas as to what the best outcome and the best things would be for me. But God knows better than I do, so I have to have hope and place my trust in him. And that’s what we all must do.
Let us all pray more fervently to even know what we should be asking for and seeking after. Let us pray for the help that sometimes we don’t even know we need. To pray for guidance on situations and circumstances that we may even think we’ve got well under control. He will help us. This is the same Father in Heaven that sent his only begotten son in the flesh to live a perfect life, to take upon himself our sins, and to suffer and die for us so that we may have eternal life. I’m pretty sure He will help us fight through the challenges and struggles we face in mortality. And most definitely, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” I say these things, ever so hopefully, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Tuesdays Torch has been viewed in countries all across the globe through our website and social media. We pray the words of every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. To partner with Tuesdays Torch and help expand our reach please contact us. We pray the Lord will touch our readers. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God.
