Tuesday’s Torch 566
December 17, 2019
The Christmas season is a wonderful season but also a challenging one for many. Depression, anxiety and stress are a bit higher than usual and one thing is often missing. Peace. In days of songs about peace on earth and good will toward men, often it can feel far from that. If you watch the news it’ll feel even farther away.
Where can we find this peace. I’m in the process of seeking that out myself so I’ll share one of the verses I’ve come across in my study.
“31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
These verses warn us of something pretty much all of us have felt at some point or another. We shall have tribulation, you will know difficulties in this world. We will sometimes be left alone. We will feel abandoned, unloved and uncared for, but like Christ we don’t have to be alone and we also don’t have to stay miserable.
Christ is who He says he is. The scriptures are true. The Father is with us and we have the blessing of the Holy Ghost, the promised comforter to help us through our most difficult moments. So as we get deeper into this Christmas season, let us not be bogged down in stress and the misery of this world. Let us all be of good cheer, because Christ really has overcome this oft-times difficult world. And he did that, to make it possible for each of us to do the same. Let us all believe just a little stronger and trust just a little more in the Savior of the world. I share this with you and wish you the greatest of blessings for this Christmas and the days, weeks, months and years ahead, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. To partner with Tuesdays Torch and help expand our reach please contact us. We pray the Lord will touch our readers. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God. No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
