Tuesday’s Torch 563

November 26th, 2019

Thanksgiving in a couple days has been on my mind so there are a couple different scriptures I’d like to share.  First from Psalms 147:3

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

What a tremendous blessing that part right there is.  I know that He will in fact do that if we let him, he is truly The master healer!

Continuing on in the scriptures,

“He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.”

Such amazing reasons to “sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving.”  There are so many others too.  Quite simply stated in James 1:17 is this truth:

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

Brothers and sisters, it is my prayer that we all have time over the next couple of days to truly reflect on all the amazing blessings in our lives. I’d like to share some of mine right now.

I have the two most amazing children that bring my life so much joy.  I am blessed to be their father.  And how wonderful it is to know that my Father in heaven has entrusted them to me.  I’m grateful and thankful to their mother.  Without the years she spent by my side, I would not be who I am today and I wouldn’t have the two biggest blessings in my life, my children.

I’m thankful for all of my family, friends and loved ones, both the ones still with me and those who have passed to the next stage of their journey.  I could drop some names in here but I strive to make sure they all know how important they are to me.  Suffice it to say that I have a great family, and some really excellent friends.

Many will never know exactly how much they mean to me and the impact they’ve made.  At my lowest points, there were so many ready and willing to lift me back up.

I’m thankful for my home and food to eat, and electricity and clean water.  My income, the ability to support my family.  So many blessings I could list.

And ultimately, where all of my blessings come from, I am thankful to my Heavenly Father, and to my Savior Jesus Christ.  I am thankful for the gift of the Holy Ghost.  I am so grateful for the scriptures and for having the gospel in my life.  In closing I ask each of you, What are you thankful for?   And I share this message in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We pray the Lord will touch our readers. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God. Please share testimonies, feedback or encouraging words by email at: tuesdaystorch@gmail.comwe enjoy hearing from you. No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
