Tuesday’s Torch 559

October 29, 2019

Today I’m going to talk about receiving strength from God.  In the life there are many things to be done. Some hard, some easy.  Some that seem downright impossible.   The scriptures say that with God and through faith that all things are possible.  But what about our own personal limitations, can He and will He help us with those?  I would like to rattle off some verses one after another..

Psalm 29:11

The Lord will give strength unto his people;

Isaiah 40:29, 31

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

2 Corinthians 12:9

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

Psalm 18:2

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; “

So all of these verses speak about receiving strength from God.  We can do those things that to us would be impossible.  In fact, John 15:5 says that without Him, we “can do nothing.”

There is an amazing truth I want to point out. No matter your limitations, as humans we are weak and frail and fragile.  But our God is not.  So what if we on our own cannot do something?  God doesn’t have those limitations and He can and does help people do things they couldn’t do alone.  Daniel survived that Lions den. His friends came out unscathed from that fiery furnace?  Could they do that by themselves?  No.  No way.  They could not do it.  It was impossible for them.  But not for God.  And you’ll notice something about that story of the fiery furnace, God could have simply put out the fire.  But he didn’t. They were in that fire, but he brought them through it.  Because he isn’t limited in what he can do for us because of our limitations on what we can do for ourselves.

He gives us of his strength.  Even when we are weak, especially when we are weak.  As quoted earlier he states that His strength is made perfect in our weakness!

So for those struggling with something that’s too much to handle.  God can help you handle it.  He can and will strengthen you.  For those who want to give up and call it quits, don’t! Allow God to give you the strength you need.  I know for a fact that He has helped me do so many things that I couldn’t do alone.  I was and I am too weak.  But my God is not.  And I’ll forever testify that He lives, He loves us and He will give us the strength we lack.  All things are possible.  And that is what I leave with you, and I testify that it is true, In the sacred name of our Savior Jesus Christ, Amen!

We pray the Lord will touch our readers. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God. Please share testimonies, feedback or encouraging words by email at: tuesdaystorch@gmail.comwe enjoy hearing from you. No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
