Tuesday’s Torch 544
July 9, 2019
I want to be as real as possible with you today. There’s something on my mind and it’s been building and so here goes. Life can be hard, life can seem unfair. Sometimes we all feel like we aren’t enough, that we aren’t worth it. That’s just not true.
Don’t take my word for it. Take Gods word for it. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” -John 3:16
You are enough, you are worth it. You were and are worth it to your Father in Heaven. So worth it that He sent his Son for you!!
You were and are worth it to our Savior Jesus Christ!! Even when he was up on the cross he was asking that the soldiers who lifted him up there be forgiven. Why? Because He was there for them! He was paying the price for their sins too!
So whatever you did or you’re doing or whatever it is about yourself that you think makes you not worth it or somehow not enough, that’s what the Savior lived and died to save you from. You are worth it right now! You are enough this instant.
Does that mean God wants us to stay as we are? Does that mean God wants us to stop trying to do better? Does that mean he doesn’t want you to fix your mistakes and strive to be righteous? No. It just means that He loves you right now. He sent his Son for you right now. You are enough and worth it right now.
So I want you to look in the mirror. Now or after I make this request, you can take a break from reading or viewing this Torch, pause it, whatever. Look in the mirror and say “I am enough. I am worth it! Because God said so. I am enough and I am worth it because my personal Savior Jesus Christ said so! “
And who can question that? So listen. Everyone who hears these words. No matter who you are, you’re worth it! You are enough! God sent his Son for you! Jesus Christ accomplished all he did for you! Personally.
And for those who are thinking life isn’t fair. Those who still think something is too much for them or that they shouldn’t have to deal with such hardships in life. Those who are thinking about giving up or quitting. You’ve got this! God can help you!! God will help you!
Because you know who never gave up or quit or thought that you weren’t worth it? The Savior!!! If you’re worth it to him, who are you to doubt it? Who are you to give up on yourself? I want you to know that you are so valuable that Jesus Christ willingly died for you. Who you are right now. Smile. And strive to do even better because He believes in you.
And hey, whether I know you personally or not, I want you to know that you are enough. Even those who don’t like me, which I’m not sure why you are reading or watching this but i’m so glad you are, because you’re enough. Even if you’re sitting there thinking “Why did I waste my time by clicking just for this guy to go on and on about this, I’m done”. I still want you to know you’re worth it and you are enough. Because I also need a reminder every now and then. Because I’ve felt all sorts of worthless in the past, and I’ve struggled at times with thinking I’m not enough. But God says I am. And He says you are. And that is good enough for me. I pray that it’s good enough for you too. May you be blessed with hope, health and happiness! And may you know that you are enough, and that you are worth so much more than you realize. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God. No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
