Tuesday’s Torch 529

March 26, 2019

My family is extremely important to me.  My children give me so much happiness and joy.  They are truly the greatest blessing their mother and I could have ever been given by our Father in Heaven.  I wish to give them the very best of everything.  The times that I am with them are the times that I feel the most alive.  When I am forced by circumstances to not be able to be with them, it  pains me greatly.

Tonight I was blessed to have a family night with my children.  We opened with a prayer, had a few fun activities, watched a powerful Gospel message and discussed it, sang a childrens hymn and closed with a beautiful prayer delivered by my sweet little girl.  It was wonderful!

Which leads me into what I would like to discuss that I feel is of significant importance in this day and age.  Family Prayer. I will quote words from The Cornerstones of a Happy Home which I recently read which states, “I know of no other practice that will have so salutary an effect upon your lives as will the practice of kneeling together in prayer.  The very words, Our Father in Heaven, have a tremendous effect.  You cannot speak them with sincerity and with recognition without having some feeling of accountability to God.  The storms that seem to afflict every marriage become of small consequence while kneeling before the Lord and addressing him as a suppliant son and daughter.

“Your daily conversations with him will bring peace into your hearts and a joy into your lives that can come from no other source.  Your companionship will sweeten through the years. Your love will strengthen.  Your appreciation one for another will grow.”

“Your children will be blessed with a sense of security that comes of living in a home where dwells the Spirit of God.”

I would also like to share this scripture that I feel has special significance for families who seek the Lord together.  “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

This verse shows us that as we come together righteously in the name of Jesus Christ,  we will be in the presence of the Lord.  In today’s day and age, with the world trying to destroy our marriages and families, with many of us joining the attack from within, how much of a blessing and benefit would it be for us to spend time each day joining together and praying in the name of Jesus Christ and thereby welcoming him into our homes and our families? Especially in times of trouble?  In the words of a Casting Crowns song, “If we’ve ever needed you, Lord it’s now, Lord it’s now!”

I would like to express this feeling to each of you who hear these words.  Do not wait.  Do not waste one more moment.  Get on that straight and narrow path!  Pray to God the Eternal Father in the name of his Son Jesus Christ for the help you need for yourselves, and for your families.

In the words of a hymn that I love, “Oh, how praying rests the weary! Prayer will change the night to day. So, when life gets dark and dreary, Don’t forget to pray.”

May God bless each of you. May God bless your children.  May God bless your marriages and families.  This is my hope, my prayer, and the reason for my message this night, in the sacred name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Redeemer, the one who makes all things possible, Amen.

We pray the Lord will touch our readers. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God. Please share testimonies, feedback or encouraging words by email at: tuesdaystorch@gmail.comwe enjoy hearing from you. No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
