Tuesday’s Torch 521

January 29, 2019

Tonight I want to talk about victory. I’ve spoken a lot about fighting through adversity. So I would like to look at what comes not only after that fight but what can be with us during as well. First I will ask, are we truly born of God? Are you?  We are all children of God, but in 1 John 5 we are told that “whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God”. So the first part of the victory is to believe that Christ is the Savior of the world.

And I’m not going to drag this message out so in verse 4 we are hit with this truth:

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

And again verse 5 reminds us by asking,

“Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”  Now that verse was written for everyone so I’m going to take a liberty and repeat it this way for many of those tuning in, “Who is she that overcometh the world, but she that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”

Now let’s look at that. Victory as discussed in these verses is none other than Faith. It is our faith that is the victory. As we make it through our trials and adversity and we come out the other side still believing in Christ, still having faith that he can make all things possible in our lives. As we can still seek to serve God and do things that are pleasing to Him. That, is victory.

Now what is this faith? Faith is more than the belief that He is and the belief that He can. Faith is active!  The scriptures tell us in James Chapter two in a few different ways what is stated in verse 26 as “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

When we have faith, true faith, it is reflected in our actions. If you truly believe  that the Savior paid the price for each of our Sins so that we might be saved we will act like it. We will try our best to do what is right, to keep every commandment, to serve the Lord, to share the great news of the Gospel.  When we have true faith.  We fight the good fight and we Win! We win! Victory! Victory is ours! Our faith earns us the Victory, yea, our Faith is our victory.

Brothers and Sisters. God lives. He loves us. He sent His Son to live a perfect life to be a perfect example to us, and to ultimately lay down his life for us. So that we could be forgiven. He did that for me, He did that for you. And as for me, I will never forget what my forgiveness cost. I will never forget the Sacrifice made on my behalf. I will accept with open arms the gift of the Atonement and I will not look back. Victory.

Victory is ours because Faith is ours. As we live according to that faith, we live victoriously. That is how we overcome the world. That is how we overcome mistakes. That is how we will even overcome death. Because of the Savior all things are possible, and that is why I share this message in His name, even the name of Jesus the Christ, Amen!

We pray the Lord will touch our readers. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God. Please share testimonies, feedback or encouraging words by email at: tuesdaystorch@gmail.comwe enjoy hearing from you. No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
