Tuesday’s Torch 520

January 22, 2019

Today I’m going to talk about something that affects us all at different times. I’ve experienced it, I’m sure you’ve experienced it, some of us are experiencing it right this very moment. It can be caused by many things. That feeling that I’m talking about is the one of heartbreak.

A lot of people like to say words to lift our spirits like, “Hang in there”, “You’ll be fine”, Everything will be ok”. All of these are nice things and kind things to say. But I’m going to say the following. Use it. Use that heartbreak in a very distinctive way Use it to draw closer to God.

Psalm 34:17-19 describes just such a response to heart break. “The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.“

The verse states that the Lord is near as we are broken hearted. He knows how to comfort us because He has felt all of our pains! All of them. So let’s turn to the Savior to receive the comfort that only he can provide. He is the source of healing to whom we must turn.  Because not only are we told that He will draw near to us but Psalm 147:3 states that “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

He can make you whole again even when you don’t see how that can ever happen. He can repair things that seem to be broken beyond saving. The Atonement is infinitely able to do the miraculous. Have faith and know that it’s ok if you don’t see How God is going to make the repairs. Hebrews 11:1 says that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

You don’t have to see how he is going to heal you, or help you or save you. Or repair the damaged aspects of your life that you think are beyond repair. First believe that He can. And then use the full scope of faith and know that He will.  You are loved. Your Father in Heaven hears your prayers and wants to heal you from your pains and heartaches and there is no better time to turn to Him than when you feel like you’re at rock bottom. That’s where we each have to get sometime in order to repair and rebuild with our hearts turned towards the Savior.

I think it was very fitting that the Son of God was raised by a carpenter and taught accordingly for He is truly the one who can rebuild us from the ground up. He can heal you, and He will. I have experienced his healing powers in my own life. I testify of this truth in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We pray the Lord will touch our readers. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God. Please share testimonies, feedback or encouraging words by email at: tuesdaystorch@gmail.comwe enjoy hearing from you. No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
