Tuesday’s Torch 519

January 15, 2019

Caught up in the midst of a great storm while traveling by boat and while fearing for their very lives, the disciples awakened Jesus saying, “Master, carest thou not that we perish?  And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.  And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”

Sometimes we find ourselves caught up in situations that would make us question why is this allowed to happen. How can we be saved or fixed or survive? Does the Lord care?  Yes, He cares. As we struggle with fears and feelings the Lord is ready to step in and calm the storms that are raging. When we feel that there is no hope and nothing we can do to save ourselves, He can do it. Sometimes we have to be patient and as stated in Psalm 27:15, “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”

A quick reminder that we just have to ask for that help. At another instance with stormy seas , the savior was seen walking on water towards the ship. He beckoned for Peter to come out and meet him. Shortly after beginning to walk across the water, Peter began to fear that He couldn’t do it, that walking upon the water was impossible and that he was scared of what might happen were he to sink. As his faith left him and the fear took over He began to sink. It is at that moment that he cried out for the Lord to save him, which He did.

This shows that we should have faith that we can do all things through Christ. Surely if Peter can walk on water, an act that would appear to defy all laws of physics, through faith in the Lord, how much easier would it be for the Lord to help you or me overcome our issues? Whatever they may be.

I testify that God lives, that He loves us and that He is our Father in Heaven. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is the savior of the world. I testify that the Atonement is real and infinite in nature. The power of the Atonement is strong enough to accomplish the “impossible”. May we all accept of that divine gift more completely is my prayer, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Tuesdays Torch has been viewed in countries all across the globe through our website and social media. We pray the words of every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. To partner with Tuesdays Torch and help expand our reach please contact us. We pray the Lord will touch our readers. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God. Please share testimonies, feedback or encouraging words by email at: tuesdaystorch@gmail.comwe enjoy hearing from you. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website , by email, Facebook and Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
