Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? (Psalm 85:6)
When I got sick from too much carbon dioxide in my blood I experienced the hand of God descending upon me and after that I knew I would win this battle in my body. Recovery felt daunting for a while but each day I felt stronger and was getting used to the new medical equipment to help me breath properly. I had been away from church for five or six years at that time in my life but seeing God how I saw Him made me want to dedicate my life to Him forever. After getting ready for the day I would watch several preachers I enjoyed listening to for hours a day. When I got on the computer I would read four chapters in my bible and explore the scriptures. When the weather got warm again I would go for prayer walks around town and had prayer time in the park every day. I began to feel alive again as I drew closer to the Lord than I had ever been previously. In spring of 2008 GodTV cancelled all their evening programming for many months to show the Lakeland Revival in Florida. It was growing in numbers, signs and wonders every night as people gathered from around the world to better know the Lord. Being in the glorious precense of God becomes addicting and I desperately wanted to experience what I was seeing for myself. A friend of mine Terry came by one day while watching the revival with my brother and he sat down and watched it with us. He is a believer in God but not much a fan of organized religion or TV preachers, he was a sceptic but intrigued by what he was seeing. I kept watching the revival nightly and after a few days Terry felt like we needed to go there. At first he assumed it was for my brother and me to get some kind of healing from the Lord but later he learned it was a spiritual awakening for himself. I was saving personal money I had left from the skate park so we used it to take a trip to the Revival in Florida. Terry, his wife and son loaded up with my brother and me in our big old Chevy van so we could have our faith adventure. It truly was a test of faith because we left our care givers and they had to help us instead. It was worth feeling revival like that and we were all blessed to experience this outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
The thing I remember most about the two nights we spent in revival meetings was for us to go home and spread the fire into our communities. We had an understanding that the Lord wants to revive us again so that we can rejoice in Him. The hand of God rests on the man at His right hand, Jesus His son was raised up for Himself. Through Him we are not turned away from the Lord; He will revive us for Christ sake so that we will call on His name. Restoration comes in Jesus name and the Lords face shines on us so that we may be saved (Ps. 80:17-19). When we experience revival and rejoice in the Lord we see His unfailing love through Him granting our salvation (Ps. 85:6-7). The Lord says that He lives in a high and holy place but also with those who are lowly and repentant in spirit so that they may be revived (Is. 57:15). I cannot think of a time in my life where I felt lower in my spirit than when I was in the hospital trying to get well. When my life felt like it was on the line I wanted to be sure I had everything right with the Lord. This brought revival to my spirit I was hungry to experience the Lord and I needed to feel Him in the realest way I could. Studying my bible and seeing this revival unfold on TV would never make me feel the Lord like I wanted to feel Him. I felt like I had been torn to pieces but after getting sick I full heartedly returned to the Lord and experienced healing in my life. Soon after we return to the Lord He will revive and restore our lives so that we may live in His presence (Hos. 6:1-2). I’m not real sure that I spread the Spirit of revival right away but I had it in my life and have done everything I can to share the word of God with others through my writing.
It may not always be necessary to chase the anointing for us to experience Him in very real ways. Wherever His Spirit is we can have revival in our lives. Often times it is sad to say that we find Him most in the lowest places of our lives because that is when we most urgently need Him. The Lord happily will receive us when we have been prodigal sons and daughters but how much greater would it be if we never left in the first place? We can have revival always in our lives if we will love the Lord like he already is in love with us.
Lord I pray that we will not wait until our lives hit rock bottom before we show you the devotion that you are desperate for us to show you. If we are almost to that point or already there help us to feel no condemnation when we make it back to you. I know Lord that you always are on the side of the underdog and we all have been there. Lord we ask that wherever we are at in our relationship with you that you would revive us again so that we may rejoice in you. In Jesus Name, Amen.

All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God.
