Can you fathom the mysteries of God, Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? (Job 11:7)
After the art ceremony for the World Plane Northwest Airlines presented my family three free airline tickets to anywhere in the US since we were the host family and didn’t get to fly with them. With these tickets and a forth we purchased for my brother we went to visit Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ron for Thanksgiving in Arizona. This was the first time my brother and me flew anywhere so it was quite a neat experience for us. I remember having some nervousness about flying but mostly I was excited since I provided this opportunity to my family from drawing a picture. I remember taking off for the first time. I was slightly leaned forward and the force from taking off threw me back in my seat and when we had lift off I was so amazed. As we ascended I looked out over the city and everything looked so small from way up in the air. Flying through the clouds made me feel like I was entering into another world and being above the clouds was breathtaking to me. I remember flying over a part of the Rocky Mountains that were covered in fresh snow. Even from the sky mountains are massive and it was absolutely beautiful seeing them from that perspective. After that we had a safe landing at the Phoenix International Airport where my aunt and uncle picked us up. They lived in a rural area called Dewey, AZ which is near Prescott. They were caretakers on a poultry farm in a desert like mountain area that was about 4,500 feet above sea level. They stayed in the main house on the property and we got to stay in the guest cabin near them. The first night we were there it was pretty cold in the cabin so we lit a fire to warm it up. We didn’t know something was wrong with the vent on the fireplace so smoke got inside and we got choked up. The next day Uncle Ron fixed it so we would survive the holiday. My brother wouldn’t stay at that cabin any more so he slept on the couch in the main house. While in Arizona we visited a few popular destinations. We went to Prescott the nearest bigger town and went to Flagstaff. The day before Thanksgiving we went and picked up their friend Bob from the camp they worked at with him in Southwestern California.
On one of our last days in Arizona we went on a day trip to see the Grand Canyon. Nothing can prepare your mind and emotions for such a spectacular sight. There are no pictures of it that can do it justice unless you have seen it in person. It truly is a world wonder! The Grand Canyon is an unfathomable mystery of God. Who can begin to understand the limitless power of Almighty God? When my brother stared out at this great marvel he said it was the first time he knew that God was real. The clouds we flew through to get there were put there by Him. He supplies rain to the earth and covers the hills with grass (Ps. 147:8). Every beautiful thing that we can see was made by Him. Eternity He put into our hearts and still we cannot fathom everything He has done from the beginning (Eccl. 3:11). The beauty I seen that day had no real logical explanation that I would accept because no river could have done that in millions of years. The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, 18 miles wide and about 5,400 feet deep, no way one river did all of that. Man often will pretend God away or deny His existence but only He knows the earth from end to end. He doesn’t grow weary or tired and we cannot know the truth about mysteries like this (Is. 40:28). The Lord created the heavens and stretched them out, He made the earth and everything that comes from it. God has given breath and life to everyone who exists (Is. 42:5). I experienced many firsts and some once in a lifetime memories on my trip to Arizona. I was able to scratch the surface of the height, depth, width and breadth concerning everything in creation.
There are many differing thoughts about the cosmos, how life began and how certain mysteries have come about. Man however flawed in their thinking that they might be are reaching out for answers. These answers cannot be found in an educated guess because they are here by grand design. Only God knows these answers that we seek and He may or may not choose to share them with us. We can aimlessly search for answers on our own or we can go to the source and spend our lives learning from Him.
Lord God help us to remember the first time your creation took our breath away because it was amazingly beautiful. When there are things that trouble our minds or if they have importance to us let us go to the source of all wisdom, knowledge, power and truth. Lies no matter the number who believe them will never give us the peace and freedom found in you. Before we look to Google as our source for information help us to look you up and see what we can find. In Jesus name, Amen.

All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk about what He did and is still doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will invite the Lord into their lives by asking Him to forgive their sins and believing that He is the Son of God. No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
