My son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways (Proverbs 23:26)
In our last torch we learned that loving God and others can be difficult but if we are willing to battle our way through the Lord will bring us the victory. The Lord is seeking a devoted heart that is open up to Him. He seeks eyes that will see Him and delight in all His ways. We are to seek wisdom and gain understanding as we grow closer to Him. Today our song will be Open The Eyes Of My Heart by Paul Baloche. The link to this song is https://youtu.be/Sh30xwmJ-x0 or search for it on YouTube. Open the eyes of our hearts Lord; we want to see You. We want to see You high and lifted up, shining in the light of Your glory. Pour down love on us as we sing holy, holy, holy to You. The Lord spoke to Solomon and told Him to ask for anything and He would grant it to Him. Instead of asking for wealth, possessions or honor, the death of his enemies or for a long life; he asks for wisdom and knowledge to govern himself and the people of Israel. He told the Lord to Open The Eyes Of My Heart so I can do what is pleasing as king of Israel. The Lord gave him wisdom and knowledge but also gave him wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king will ever have (2 Chronicles 1:10-12). If we want the eyes of our heart open to the Lord we must learn to seek Him to find wisdom and gain understanding. These two are the first step in us finding out the blessings that God has for each of us.
To gain wisdom we must learn to keep the words of the Lord and store His commands within us. Keeping His commands is life to our flesh; we must guard His teaching like our most prized possession. We must bind these to our fingers and write them on the tablet of our heart. We must keep wisdom and insight close to us like we would our love ones (Proverbs 7:1-4). When we open our heart to the Lord He will fill it with wisdom. Having a healthy respect for the Lord is where wisdom begins; acknowledging Him is understanding. Through wisdom our days will be many and years will be added to our lives (Proverbs 9:10-11). Just believing God is real is where wisdom begins. He will give to each of us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we can know Him better. He will Open The Eyes Of My Heart so we may be enlightened knowing the hope He’s called us to, the rich inheritance and great power for us who believe. That is the power that was exerted when Christ was raised from the dead and seated at God’s right hand in heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come (Ephesians 1:17-21). The power we find in opening our hearts to the Lord is the knowledge that Christ is doing the work inside of us. The goal is that we may be encouraged in heart and united in love so that we may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that we may know the mystery of God, Jesus Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:2-3). Say to God, Open The Eyes Of My Heart so I can see You and be filled with the treasures of wisdom and understanding.

The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord.
