Tuesdays Torch 381

Tuesday’s Torch

04/26/16

By: Tim Sader

May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. (Galatians 6:14)

Last week we discussed coming to the altar with confidence because Jesus made a way for us. We worshiped the Lord with the song O Come to The Altar by Elevation Worship. We only have access to the altar because we first were willing to approach the cross. We had to come to the place where He bleed and died in order for us to receive everything He would do. We can boast in the cross of our Lord because we have been separated from the world and the world no longer can have its hold on us. Our song for today will be At The Cross (love ran red) by Chris Tomlin. The link to this song is https://youtu.be/4ONVG8DaREA or search for the song title and artist on YouTube. The cross is a place where the mercy of God reigns and streams of grace flowed down for us. At The Cross we surrender our lives to Christ in awe of how great a sacrifice He made for us. When His love ran red our sins were washed away. We owe it all to Jesus who did it all because of His love for us. At the cross we give up the man or woman we used to be to be the new person He wants us to be. We lay down selfishness, our lusts and pride of life when we go to the cross. Not only do we lay down every sin but we are set free from it by the precious blood He poured out for us. We are separated from the world At The Cross so that in Christ we can declare separation to the world from the sins keeping them separated from God. When we come to the cross we personally commit to the Lord but also we are changed in several ways.

We do not preach the gospel because it makes perfect sense or to make it sound right to others. If we try to do this we are missing out on the power of the cross. It makes no sense to those who do not believe in it but for those of us who do it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:17-18). At The cross we find power from heaven to save us and free us from sin and how it affects our lives. Christ is our peace, He has destroyed the barrier between Jews and Gentiles to stop their hostility. He did this by setting aside in His flesh the law with its rules and regulations. He did this to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, making peace in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, putting to death their hostility (Ephesians 2:14-16). All the fullness of God dwelt in Christ, He reconciles all things to Himself. Everything in heaven and earth makes peace through His blood shed on the cross (Colossians 1:19-20). Through His blood we are reconciled from the law we couldn’t keep and can find peace in every situation we find ourselves in. When we were dying in our sins, God made us alive in Christ. He forgave our sins, canceling the legal charges against us condemning us to death; He took it and nailed it to the cross. He disarmed the power of sin, making a public spectacle by triumphing over them on the cross (Colossians 2:13-15). He triumphed over sin so we could find forgiveness At The Cross. Christ bore our sins in His body on the cross, so we might die to sin and live for righteousness; “by His wounds we have been healed (1 Peter 2:24).” The cross left visible marks on Christ proving He carried away sin and its effects on us. We receive healing when we go to the Cross. It is sad but many are still enemies of Christ; destine for destruction, full of lust, seeking their own glory with minds set on worldly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. We eagerly await Christ or savior, who, by the power of God will transform our lowly bodies so they will be like His glorious body (Philippians 3:18-21). At The Cross we are granted citizenship in heaven where we will get to be like Christ in all His glory.

Tuesdays Torch has an official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com Daily Sparks and Scripture Pictures are further spreading the message of Christ. Tuesdays Torch has been viewed in countries all across the globe through our website and social media. The author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken at MorningStar Fellowship Church and will be prayerfully seeking future speaking engagements. Recently we leisurelane.wordpress.com partnered with us check them out and send some love. Any ministries or blogs that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is doing. The best thing God’s done is send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. Please share testimonies, feedback or encouraging words by email at: tuesdaystorch@gmail.com we enjoy hearing from you. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email, on Facebook as Tuesdays Torch or Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
