There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. (Matthew 28:2)
Last week we learned that since Jesus is Alive we can live the life He destined for us from the beginning when He created Adam. We celebrated this life we get to live with the song Alive by Hillsong Young & Free. In a few days we will celebrate Easter; a day for us to remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ. On that day the earth shook and an angel came and rolled the stone away from the grave because absolutely nothing could stop our Lord from coming out of the tomb. Our song for today will be Unstoppable God by Elevation Worship. The link to this song is https://youtu.be/w5LoCwgbg6U or search for the song title and artist on YouTube. When God thundered His voice from heaven the world was born and from its dust God formed us. By faith He makes commands and mountains move. Fear loses its grip on us when we choose to hope in the Lord. He is the God of impossibilities because all things are possible through Him and to us if we will believe. He is an Unstoppable God and His glory will go on forever. On the first Easter God showed us how unrelenting His power could be. Nothing can quite stop a man like a sudden case of death but it could not stop Jesus. All the miracles Christ did while He was on this earth were beyond amazing but all of them together cannot top a man being crucified and bring Himself back from the grave. It is true that He was part man and part God but still it is amazing on all levels. It took an Unstoppable God to bring back His son from the grave.
On Easter, early in the morning women took spices they prepared to rub on Jesus body in the tomb. When they arrived the stone had been rolled away and they found no body in there to anoint (Luke 24:1-3). This was shocking to them; they thought someone was playing the meanest trick in all of history on them. But then the angel spoke saying, “Don’t be alarmed, you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him (Mark 16:6).” Jesus persevered even in death because it could not stop God from doing what had to be done through His death and resurrection. Jesus appeared to the disciples many times after the resurrection. He visited them on the road, at home, by the sea and on the mountain. The first time He appeared to them Thomas was missing and couldn’t believe it was really Jesus. So a week later the disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” He then told Thomas to put his finger in His hand and the scar on His side and told him not to doubt (John 20:26-27). I think it is interesting that Jesus stood amoung them through a locked door. He showed them how Unstoppable He had always been. Also Jesus kept His scars to prove He had been crucified and to show what He had to overcome. After all it is our scars and how we deal with them that defines the kind of person we are and Jesus could not be stopped. After that Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” He told them to make disciples of all nations, baptize them and teach them to obey what He commanded them to do. And He is with us until the end has come (Matthew 28:18-20). We must learn to hope in the glorious riches of our inheritance, with great power and strength He raised Christ from the dead. Now Christ is seated in Heaven above all things and He fills us, the body to the fullness of Himself (Ephesians 1:18-23) Nothing is impossible, God omnipotent will never be stopped so we shout our praise forevermore because Jesus is our God Unstoppable.

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
