Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. (Proverbs 3:3)
Last week we talked about the tweleve days of Christmas not being a song of nonsense but about Jesus and biblical truths because that is why we celebrate. As the year ends I have been reflecting on my life and how drastically different it is from just last Christmas. I went from engaged to married, old house not sold to living in a new house that I own and making a move two hundred miles away. This year has been filled with a lot of stress but in the midst of it is the best moments of my life. My wife and I have been writing apps (memories) on the tablet of our hearts and look forward to writing many more in years to come. What apps we put on our tablet of heart is up to us and things can be erased, changed or updated over time. For many of us there is a spouse app on our tablet, an app for each of our friends, a work, education, money and entertainment app. Some of us write apps for children, pets, hobbies, culture and various other reasons we might need an app for. Work apps maybe erased when we lose a job, some of our childhood memory apps fade over time. Relationships apps maybe changed as people come and go in life, some apps are downgraded and some get upgrades. We are all born with corrupted apps already in our tablet of heart; we all have the tendency to be evil, wicked and sinful. Sometimes we write apps that are sinful such as fornication, chemical addictions to drugs, tobacco or alcohol, hate, envy, strife, bad language and pride to name a few. But when we meet Jesus and let Him into our heart He puts a block on those corrupt apps and we receive an upgrade from heaven.
The Lord knows that humans have the inclination for evil from childhood since we are born into sin (Genesis 8:21). Our tablet of heart has corrupted apps from the start. It’s from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly (Mark 7:21-22). From heaven the Lord takes action and forgives dealing accordingly to what we do; only He knows what is in our heart (1 Kings 8:39). He can see if we are spending our days wasting away on apps that put no good thing inside us. He has set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end (Ecclesiastes 3:11). God also has put apps in our tablet of heart that make us who we are and gives us the sense we are part of a larger plan. Not everyone believes that God put these apps in our tablet but they wouldn’t be there if He hadn’t. If our tablet acknowledges the Lord by not forgetting His teachings and keeping His commands He will prolong our life, bringing us peace and prosperity. If we will not let love and faithfulness apps leave us and will keep these on our tablet of heart we will find favor and a good name in the sight of God and man (Proverbs 3:1-4). We must store up and keep His commands inside of us. If we keep them we shall live; we should guard them like a fine treasure. Like a band around our finger God apps should be written on our tablet of heart (Proverbs 7:1-3). We can pass these apps to others when we minister to them; they are our letter from the Lord written on their hearts tablet by the living God, the fruit of our ministry (2 Corinthians 3:3). The Lord made a covenant with us when we accepted the Jesus app into our heart; He put the Law in us, fulfilled in Christ and through the Spirit it will be written in our mind (Hebrews 10:16). We must walk in the apps of love and faithfulness first to God then to man; they must be written on our tablet of heart.

Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is doing. The best thing God done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16).
