There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. (Proverbs 23:18)

Last week we talked about labor pains in relation to the end times we are living in and the salvation of those who are still lost. The earth is groaning under all the hurts of both natural and hand of man tragedies of epic proportions and this is only the beginning. God is separating the wicked from the righteous in these times of testing. However there is a hope for us; our future hope will not be cut off if we are zealous for the fear of the Lord. Also we must not let our hearts envy sinners (Proverbs 23:17-18). There is no need for us to fret over evildoers or be jealous of them for any reason. There is no reward or the hope of a future for the wicked; they will be snuffed out (Proverbs 24:19-20). Just like honey is sweet and delicious to our taste so is wisdom for those who find it. We have hope and our future hope will not be cut off if we trust in the word of the Lord (Proverbs 24:13-14). From day one when my wife and I met we let each other know how important our relationship to God was to us. We did not want to do things in the way of wickedness in how intimate we were willing to be until we were married. The rewards in doing things the right way God intended cannot be counted but when it was time for deeper intimacy it was better because we waited. Looking at us both being disabled and in a wheelchair I’m sure people wonder how it works or why we would even consider marriage with our health challenges. We considered marriage because the Lord directed our paths together and opened doors that only could have been His doing. We hold on to hope and have come to see that our lives are in the hands of God and despite how difficult things can be our future belongs to Him.

We know the wicked have no future so let us consider the blameless and observe the upright; a future awaits us when we seek peace (Psalm 37:37-38). There is only one blameless one and only He was completely upright. Jesus is called the Prince of Peace if we observe His ways and do likewise in our lives we will find peace. Prophecy about Jesus was written for a future generation, that a people not yet created would praise Him. The Lord looks down from heaven to view the earth, He heard the groaning of the prisoners and released those condemned to death (Psalm 102:18-20). We were all sinners condemned to death until Jesus took our penalty upon Himself and gave us a future in Him. Only the Lord knows the plans He has for us; they are plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). As we learn to trust in the word of the Lord He will unravel His plans in our lives. Not considering Him in our lives is a waste of our future. There can be no boasting about the great things men have done. All things are the Lords, it’s not Peter or Paul or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all is His and we are of Christ, and He is of God (1 Corinthians 3:21-23). Nothing the Lord does in our lives is ours to take credit for because it was His plan before it ever happens. Our future belonged to Him long before it was something we would do so all honor, power and glory belong to Him through us in Christ. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:13). It is wisdom for us to seek the Lord concerning our future. His plan is the plan we were always meant to be on and no other way we could go will ever be the future we will have if we remember the Lord in all that we do. One of the fastest ways for us to find peace is by following the plans of God concerning our future.

Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is doing. The best thing God done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. Please share testimonies, feedback or encouraging words by email at: tuesdaystorch@gmail.com we enjoy hearing from you. No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
