We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. (Romans 8:22)
Last week we talked about painful experiences and that everyone has them at some point. At those times it is most important for us to see Christ as our help and salvation from our troubles. Painful experience is something that is supposed to bring us together and make us closer to the Lord. As the end draws near the opportunity to grow stronger through trials will be increasing also. This is not meant to push us away from the Lord; though many will fall away. It is meant so we will draw closer to Him and trust that this new creation inside of us will come to life and all the labor pains will be worth the beauty we will soon behold. All of creation has been groaning and right up until now we groan as in the pains of childbirth. The world is really crazy right now with shootings, bombings and global acts of terrorism. Strange natural disasters are happening across the globe. In October we got a record amount of rainfall for the entire month in a four day storm, the likes of which has never been recorded in weather history. Charleston and the surrounding areas were labeled a disaster zone and clean-up is still happening. Many people were left homeless and homes had to be abandoned until insurance can help families make repairs to their homes. Disasters like this seem to be happening daily somewhere in the world. The earth is groaning under all these hurts; these are the beginning of birth pains. As the day of the Lord approaches the contractions will increase in intensity until everyone knows the Lord Most High is not playing games. It is a time for Him to determine who truly believes and who doesn’t.
It is in hard times when we have nothing left except God we are more likely to realize He is there and will help when we ask Him to. When we are faced with pain we cry out and writhe in our own anguish and more often than not this is where we are at when we finally take our problems to Him. Humanity is hurting, we are in labor for the Lord to make all things new again but all we give labor to is the wind. We have not brought salvation to the earth, and the people of the world have not come to life (Isaiah 26:17-18). The world is hurting Church, because we have not brought salvation to the earth. We want our lives to feel comfortable when people are under water, homeless, hungry, being shot at and terrorized. The people of the world have not come to life and how will they ever unless we bring salvation to them. Labor pains happen to prepare the body for labor we ease these pains and determine their length by how much we are willing to show the love of God to a hurting humanity. When the end approaches many false Christs will arise, they will bring a kind of salvation but will deceive many. We will hear of wars and rumors of wars, they will be necessary but not the end. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains (Mark 13:6-8). Now we must deal with these labor pains but when we see the Lord again we will rejoice and that joy will not be taken from us (John 16:22). Like Paul was in the pains of child birth to see Christ formed in others we are to do likewise with unbelievers God has put in our lives (Galatians 4:19). Labor pains come on suddenly and suddenly the Lord will return when the time of birth has come and no one will escape. We have not been left in the dark about that day so let us not waste our pain in the wind (1 Thessalonians 5:3-4). Let us use labor pains to reach the world and share the salvation of our Lord with them.

Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus their Savior; send a message to: email@example.com and we will pray together. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email, on Facebook as Tuesdays Torch or Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!
No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
