Truly, O God of Israel, our Savior, you work in mysterious ways. (Isaiah 45:15)

Last week we discussed reasons why we think God doesn’t answer or why He gives us no for an answer when we call out to Him. Sometimes we are not listening for an answer, the answer is no, not now or something is blocking our communication with Him. We cannot always understand why God answers some prayers exactly how we wish and other times it seems we get the exact opposite. The ways of God only have to make sense to Him but more often than not we will think He moves in mysterious ways. In part of the song Mysterious Ways by U2 they sing; You can’t explain, To touch is to heal, To hurt is to steal, If you want to kiss the sky, Better learn how to kneel. Life is mysterious and full of peculiar events that cannot always be explained. Good and bad things happen to us that seem strange. What seems good at the time can end badly and what we consider to be a bad thing may turn around and end great. Drinking and partying always seems fun until we end up hung over, in jail, beat up, dead or kill someone else. On the flip side, after my brother passed and I struggled not to follow him I experienced the favor and love of God like never before. Throughout the bible God displayed His ways to and through us. Creation is a big mystery; where did God come from and how did He create everything from nothing? Other events include Sarah being too old to conceive, the Exodus plagues, God leading Israel through the Red Sea and the numerous wilderness miracles, walls of Jericho coming down, David beats Goliath, Elijah checking out in a chariot of fire, Daniel delivered from lion’s den, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego thrown in firery furnace without being burned. There is not room in this study to list them all but for more check out (Hebrews 11:32-34).

The ways and thoughts of God are not our ways and our thoughts that is why they are mysterious to us (Isaiah 55:8). Miracles when we notice them are amazing and strange but for God it is a constant way of doing things. It is mysterious that God created and chose man kind to show His grace, power, love and glory to and through. He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light (Daniel 2:22). We should be honored to know that He reveals His hidden mysteries to us. Moses was considered Gods friend and received the law from Him on the mountain. Truth and grace however came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God except for His only Son who is also God and in close relationship with the Father, He made God known to us all (John 1:17-18). Jesus and His oneness with God is a mystery we cannot quite wrap our heads around. Actually almost everything Jesus did was strange or mysterious to someone. He was conceived to virgin out of wedlock, His ministry was miraculous and death couldn’t stop Him because He was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven and in Him we find forgiveness and oneness with the Father. God revealed to us His mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill His own good pleasure. The ultimate plan is that at the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ, everything in heaven and on earth (Ephesians 1:9-10). Christ suffered horribly in order to forgive us but God took great pleasure knowing, my boy is suffering for the good of everyone and because He knew one day all authority would belong to Him. Be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love and have complete confidence in God’s mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In Him are hidden all the mysterious ways of God (Colossians 2:2-3). If we want to touch the heavens and experience those mysteries we better learn how to kneel.

Tuesdays Torch has an official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com Daily Sparks and Scripture Pictures are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and will be looking for future speaking engagements soon. We pray the words of every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. Recently we partnered with leisurelane.wordpress.com please check it out and send them some love. Any ministries or blogs that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus their Savior; send a message to: tuesdaystorch@gmail.com and we will pray together. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email, on Facebook as Tuesdays Torch or Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
