The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. (Psalm 126:3)
Last week we learned that we can be refreshed by seeking the Lord; and when we restore others while they are down we will be refreshed and filled with joy. We should be for each other like God is there for all of us when we reach out to Him. When something is for us it is ours and for the most part it is something we needed or want to have. When we go to a restaurant and order food it is for us. We ordered the food for us to enjoy and to fill our belly with. It is a benefit to us because it gives us energy and is nourishment to sustain us. We are not forced to eat though and when we do eat we get to choose whether to eat junk or what will benefit us the most. Just like food God is there for us and we can choose to fill our spirit with Him or be filled up with the other junk that we can find in this world. If we don’t choose to be filled by Him, the Lord still is there for us and there are many great benefits when we acknowledge Him. The Lord has done great things for us all so we can be full of joy. Even if He stopped at creating the world to provide for everything we need to have a life and sustain us; He already did great things for us. That alone is enough to bring us great joy but He didn’t stop. His benefits are too numerous to count but His goodness is for us and we can benefit from it or avoid Him and fail. The Lord has many plans for us and has done great wonders. None can compare with Him; His deeds would be too many for us to declare (Psalm 40:5). Today we will learn some of His benefits for us.
May the favor of the Lord rest upon us and establish the works of our hands (Psalm 90:17). God put man in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it; working is His plan so He will establish what we will work for. Our work that is not His plan will even come to being but it doesn’t mean it was His job for us to do. We are all Gods handiwork but in Christ Jesus we are called to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). God has a plan He prepared for us and it is best accomplished when Jesus becomes Lord in our lives. Through Jesus, God demonstrates His own love for us because while we were still sinners His only Son died for us (Romans 5:8). God made Jesus who had never sinned become sin for us, so in Him we could be made the righteous of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). God loved us so He gave His perfect son up for us; He became sin for us so we could be made right with God. If we will acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God, God is in us and we are in Him. We know and rely on the love He has for us because He is love. Whoever lives in love is in God and He is in them also (1 John 4:15-16). What can we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He didn’t even spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all; how will He not also, with Him, gracefully give us all things (Romans 8:31-32). God has so many benefits for us since He wants to give us all things. These things don’t always come when we think they should and might not be what we were thinking but gracefully He gives it to us. There is still plenty of work to be done on the walls that will be around His people. But when we hear the trumpets sound we must join together there because our God will fight for us (Nehemiah 4:20). God establishes the work we do but that doesn’t mean trouble will not come but united together in Him the fight has been won for us. What God does for us is beyond words because it cannot all be listed but Romans 8 says it well; If God gave us His Son then surely He can give us all things. Everything is for us but not everything is in His plan but whatever we need to fulfill it is ours in Christ.
Tuesdays Torch has an official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com Daily Sparks and Scripture Pictures are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several will be looking for future speaking engagements soon. We pray the words of every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. Recently we partnered with leisurelane.wordpress.com please check it out and send them some love. Any ministries or blogs that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus their Savior; send a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will pray together. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email, on Facebook as Tuesdays Torch or Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!
