Tuesday’s Torch

By: Tim Sader

Sing to the Lord! Give praise to the Lord! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked. (Jeremiah 20:13)

Last week we talked about the next God trait in our trio; Jesus is the way, the truth and the life only through Him we can come to the Father (John 14:6). We know the truth by following Jesus and letting the Spirit of truth come and guide us on our path. The third trait of Jesus in the above scripture is the life. He is the life because He is the giver of life eternal; our forever is possible because out of death He came to life again. Our mortal life in the flesh is like grass; we flourish like flowers in a field then the wind blows and it is gone, we are remembered no more (Psalm 103:15-16). The life we live in the flesh is gone in an instant when we think about forever. Without some kind of intervention we are lucky to get 100 years to live it on our own. But we should sing to the Lord and praise His holy name! He rescues the needy from the hand of the wicked (Jeremiah 20:13). Without the life He gives to us we are in desperate need of saving because we cannot save ourselves from death. In the hands of God is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind (Job 12:10). The life we find in Jesus really is life. When the body dies and goes into a hole, in Him we live for eternity. To get true life we must find the giver of life who Himself became a sacrifice so that by believing in Him we will be saved from death.

Jesus tells us, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world (John 6:51).” Jesus is living bread from heaven if we put this truth inside of us in Him the life we live is everlasting. He risked His own life to give life to the whole world. He is the resurrection and the life everyone who believes this will live even after they die. Do we believe this (John 11:25-26)? We know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer is His master. When He died, He died to sin once and for all; but now the life He lives is onto God. In the same way, we must count ourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:9-11). When we find the life in Christ it should be the death to sin in our flesh. If our sin has died then nothing else has to die when our body expires. We were crucified with Christ we no longer live; but Christ lives in us. The life we live in the body, we live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave himself for us (Galatians 2:20). Since Christ was crucified for us all we are living for Him so we praise Him in this life to help us inherent the one to come. Physical training is of some benefit in this life but what really matters forever is godliness it lasts for this life and the one to come (1 Timothy 4:8). Nothing we do that only is temporal while we live here matters much in the life to come. Notice there are things we can do now that hold value even in eternity. The life we live now is not the life we will live forever it is what matters most. When the life (Jesus) appeared the apostles seen it, testified to it and proclaimed eternal life that was with the Father had appeared to us. We proclaim also the life has come so others may have fellowship with us, the Father and Jesus His Son (1 John 1:2-3). The life brings true life to the needy (everyone) who were going to die; He saved us from sin so we could live forever.

Tuesdays Torch has an official website Daily Sparks and Scripture Pictures are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several will be looking for future speaking engagements soon. We pray the words of every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. Recently we partnered with please check it out and send them some love. Any ministries or blogs that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus their Savior send a message to: and we will pray together. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email, on Facebook as Tuesdays Torch or Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
