Tuesday’s Torch

By: Tim Sader

Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus. (Mark 9:8)

Last week we talked about the dew and learned that this daily miracle is only possible by God. Will we saturate our lives with Him or will He stop the dew until we recognize Him. The dew of heaven is on us when Gods miraculous power is at work in our lives then suddenly things can change. Today many of us expect God to always suddenly fulfill our every whim. This is not always the case but at times God suddenly does a work and things change in a blink of an eye. Jesus did many instantaneous miracles in His ministry on earth but He also walked by some that wouldn’t be healed until He departed. Just as suddenly as Christ did those miracles we can bring ruin to ourselves. Those who plot evil with deceit in their hearts always stir-up conflict. Disasters will overtake them in an instant; they will suddenly be destroyed (Proverbs 6:14-15). Our own evil can bring about some nasty outcomes. After being rebuked many times for doing wrong and remaining stubborn will also bring destruction (Proverbs 29:1). God often gives us many chances to change our ways and sometimes if people around us are picking up on negative things that we are doing and feel like we shouldn’t it might be time to work on it. If they are right destruction could be close behind our ignored warnings. Everything God does He for told long ago, He makes known by His mouth before He acts on it. However when suddenly He acts, what He says will surely come to pass (Isaiah 48:3). Destruction from wickedness never comes without us knowing there are possible consequences to those actions. If we break the law and the police show up suddenly our lifestyle will be upset.

In the same way that destruction comes upon the wicked; suddenly Jesus changes things. Early in Jesus ministry He and His followers crossed the sea in boats when a storm came and almost sank them. Jesus was asleep and not worried because just as fast as it started when He rebuked it the storm instantly became calm (Matthew 8:24). They were ok in their storm because the whole time Jesus was with them. After He rose from the grave Jesus greeted the women who came to tend His body. They fell to the ground and worshiped at His feet (Matthew 28:9). Their lives were suddenly changed because they knew their savior was who He claimed to be. Suddenly the three disciples looked when He was transfigured and they saw no one except Jesus. If we want to suddenly experience God that is the place we need to get to; we need to see no one except for Jesus. We need to wake Him up inside of us and get on our faces and worship at His holy feet. When Jesus ascended the people were looking into the sky when suddenly two men appeared, asked why they were looking and said Jesus would return in the same way that He left (Acts 1:10-11). When Peter was in prison because of the gospel an angel appeared in his cell and woke him up; He got up and suddenly his chains fell off (Acts 12:7). Suddenly angels can come to aid us and free us from our chains so no situation is completely hopeless. Like the sound of a violent blowing wind suddenly the whole house was filled wherever they were (Acts 2:2). The Holy Spirit came and filled everyone in the house. When Phillip baptized a man suddenly the Lord took him away and was not seen again by the eunuch but he went away rejoicing (Acts 8:39). Yes the Lord made him disappear and took somewhere else. God can suddenly do anything that He wants to do if we will trust and believe that only He can make it happen.

Tuesdays Torch has an official website Daily Sparks and Scripture Pictures are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several will be looking for future speaking engagements soon. We pray the words of every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. Recently we partnered with please check it out and send them some love. Any ministries or blogs that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus their Savior send a message to: and we will pray together. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email, on Facebook as Tuesdays Torch or Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
