Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: (Genesis 27:28)
Last week we talked about heaven on earth and how to experience it. All it takes is realizing this truth and learning to act like heaven even in trials. The Dew that forms overnight is proof that heaven on earth is possible. Does the rain have a father? Who made the drops of dew (Job 38:28)? God gives the dew of heaven, moisture produces vegetation so we can eat what grows. Dew is not a natural thing that just happens; if we don’t over think it, it is a miracle we can experience every day. After the hot sun cooks the earth, even after weeks without rain we can go to bed on any given night and there will be dew on almost everything in the morning. Whether it is a type of weather system created by God or just a little miracle that He gives us each day, the dew is from God. Gideon asked for a heavenly sign using the dew to help him know that God would save Israel like He said He would do. The first test Gideon told God he would place a wool fleece on the ground and in the morning if the fleece was wet but the ground wasn’t it would be a confirmation to him. The Lord proved Himself when Gideon rose early the next day. Not trying to anger the Lord Gideon asked for a second confirmation. This time he asked that the fleece remain dry but that the dew only be on the ground in the morning. Again he rose early and the Lord proved Himself once more (Judges 6:36-40). These tests are proof that God controls the dew and at His command it comes down on the earth and He can let it fall or not upon where ever He pleases. God gives the dew of heaven because He loves us and has provided a way for us to fulfill all of our needs using miracles that most of us can’t even acknowledge.
The dew of heaven is one of those miracles God has given to us so we can see him in creation. Gods doctrine falls like drops of rain; when He speaks it distills as the dew, as the small rain falls on tender herbs and showers on the grass (Deuteronomy 32:2). The Bible is His doctrine it can saturate our lives if we let it rain down on us. The words he speaks will be our covering every day when we rise. By the knowledge of God the oceans are divided and the clouds drop the dew (Proverbs 3:20). One time I saw a picture of where two oceans meet and you could actually see where they divided because the waters were different colors. Only God can keep two water bodies from becoming one and only He can make a cloud produce the dew. King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream and He knew that Daniel could interpret it and he did this for the king. Immediately after the interpretation of the dream it came true. The king was driven from men, ate grass like oxen, his body was covered by the dew of heaven, his hair grew like eagle feathers and his nails like bird claws (Daniel 4:33). Later Daniel retells this story to king Belshazzar, Nebuchadnezzar’s son after He sees the writing on the wall from the hand of God. He tells him the story he already knows about when his father was removed from his throne for seven years and became like a wild animal (Daniel 5:21). This happened to humble the king so he would know that God is sovereign and He controls the kingdoms of the earth. In this story the king was drenched by the dew of heaven, he was driven from men and saturated by the words of God until all pride was stripped from him. Just as God makes the dew, he can stop it as well and keep the earth from producing fruit (Haggai 1:10). Will we let the dew of heaven soak us so we grow a good crop or will God have to stop the dew until we starve and recognize we need Him.
Tuesdays Torch has an official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com Daily Sparks and Scripture Pictures are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several will be looking for future speaking engagements soon. We pray the words of every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. Recently we partnered with leisurelane.wordpress.com please check it out and send them some love. Any ministries or blogs that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus their Savior send a message to: email@example.com and we will pray together. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email, on Facebook as Tuesdays Torch or Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!
