Tuesday’s Torch

By: Tim Sader

The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord; in its time I will do this swiftly. (Isaiah 60:22)

Last week we discussed how we worship church idols and setup idols in our heart that we worship more than we do God. He is a big God and has done many great miracles since forever but sometimes I think His grand stature makes us miss the little things He’s doing. Without really meaning to we take the small victories for granted when these are the greatest things He is doing. This can be seen when the children of Israel left Egypt and were in the wilderness. The big miracles they were grateful for at the time they happened but the provision of food in the desert for one million people they wanted to complain about. How often do we do this? When God saves our lives in obvious ways, supernaturally provides for a financial need or heals us we are grateful and happy. But how many of the little things do we neglect to pray about or thank Him for? God probably somehow saves our lives every day without us even knowing it. Most of the foods we eat in America that comes from grocery stores in some way are unhealthy. There are over thirty harmful food additives in our country that have been banned in most other countries. If our food is not one hundred percent fresh from sources we trust there is something unhealthy in it. There’s no real way to know what these poisons are doing to us but most of us including me forget to pray over our food but God continues to protect us. What about every time we get on the interstate to drive somewhere? No one can tell me God and His angels are not out there keeping things going as smoothly as possible. Thirty-five thousand people die per year but considering the millions traveling a day that is a fairly low percentage. There are many little things that God is always doing that we have no idea about. The least of us can become a great nation and He can quickly use small things to accomplish what is great.

Four small things on earth are ants, hyraxes, locusts and lizards but they are wise. These creatures find homes, store food for later, move in ranks and even live in the kings palace (Proverbs 30:24-28). Little foxes can ruin an entire vineyard; little things can have big results (Song of Songs 2:15). Israel is a little nation compared to others but God told them not to fear because He will help them (Isaiah 41:14). We maybe little in our own eyes but if we belong Him He will help us so we do not need to fear anything. The Lord will quickly do great things in our lives. The kingdom of heaven is like a tiny little mustard seed planted in a field. This little seed grows into the largest garden plant and becomes a tree that birds can perch in (Matthew 13:31-32). If we have faith as small as a mustard seed we can tell a mulberry tree to be uprooted and planted in the sea and it will obey us (Luke 17:6). Elijah told his servant seven times to go and look out at the sea because he knew rain was coming. The first six times the servant had nothing to report but on the seventh time he saw a cloud the size of a man’s hand. So the servant was sent to tell the king to take his trip before the rain stops him (1 Kings 18:43-44). It hadn’t rained in seven years but this little thing Elijah seen let him know that the rain was coming. A master gave one of his servants a city to manage and when he handled this small thing well, the master gave him ten cities to run (Luke 19:17). The kingdom of God is a lot about little things that God is doing in all of creation. We must learn to notice little things and do them well to understand how great God is and then He will trust us with the greater things.

Tuesdays Torch has an official website Daily Sparks and Scripture Pictures are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several will be looking for future speaking engagements soon. We pray the words of every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. Recently we partnered with please check it out and send them some love. Any ministries or blogs that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus their Savior send a message to: and we will pray together. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email, on Facebook as Tuesdays Torch or Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
