Tuesdays Torch week 316

Tuesday’s Torch

Romans 5:18

Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.

Last week we talked about what an honor it is for us to be invited the biggest wedding feast in the universe and all we have to do is be ready for that day. When the king invited his chosen guests many of them made excuses for why they couldn’t come. They were busy; one of them bought a field they had to tend, one had to try the oxen they bought and one just got married so he couldn’t come (Luke 14:18-20). They made excuses not to go to the wedding feast even when invited twice they would not get ready. This angered the king, his choice guests wouldn’t come so he destroyed them. When God invites us by asking, leading or calling us to do something how often do we make excuses why we don’t want to do it? Personally I can think of half a dozen times at least when I’ve made excuses for something I felt lead to do. When going out witnessing or giving a word people have been highlighted to me in the spirit but because they were busy, talking, walking away or seemed intimating I didn’t do it. Not only is this making an excuse it is disobedience to God and a missed opportunity to share His love with someone else. Often we feel embarrassed to share what the Lord shows us to so we wait for the right opportunity to come up with an excuse why we won’t do it. We justify our disobedience by saying we didn’t have the opportunity to share it with them when the right time would be right away. Delayed obedience is disobedience. When a stop light turns red we cannot delay stopping or we will probably get smashed up. When we don’t listen to God’s signals we don’t know what might happen to us or others.

People have been making excuses for disobedience since Adam committed the first sin in the Garden. When they knew they were naked God asked if they ate of the tree He told them not to. Adam said the woman you put here gave me the fruit so I ate it and the woman said the serpent deceived me into eating it (Genesis 3:11-13). We can always find an excuse for why we do or don’t do something. This one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people and one righteous act resulted in the justification and life for us all. If the message of Christ had not been preached to us, not accepting Him was not sin but now that we’ve been told there’s no excuse for our sin. By not accepting Christ we hate Him and the Father (John 15:22-23). Since creation the invisible qualities of God, His power and divine nature have clearly been seen. It can be understood in everything that was made by Him so we are without excuse for believing in Him and doing His will (Romans 1:20). All of us have sinned and most who are saved still sin therefore we have no excuse to judge someone else. However we judge others is how we condemn ourselves when we do the same things. God’s judgment on us who do those things is based on truth. So if we being just a human pass judgment on them yet do the same things, do we really think we can escape Gods judgment (Romans 2:1-3). We all have been wicked so there’s no excuse to judge the sins of others. Through Jesus we all have the forgiveness of sins, everyone who believes is set free from sin, a justification not available before Christ (Acts 13:38-39). Only through forgiveness in Christ are we set free from sin but that’s no excuse to judge others or continue sinning.

Tuesdays Torch has an official website The Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several speaking engagements lined up for the future. We pray the words of every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please share Tuesdays Torch and encourage others with it. Recently we partnered with please check it out and send them some love. Any ministries or blogs that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: and we will pray together. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email, on Facebook as Tuesdays Torch or Twitter @tuesdaystorch Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
