When you have taken the city, set it on fire. Do what the LORD has commanded. See to it; you have my orders.
In the dream I had about the angel holding numbers the number I didn’t choose was 3352. I looked up the Hebrew word corresponding to the number the word is yaqosh it means fowler. A fowler is a hunter that mainly captures birds in nets, traps and snares. Spiritually speaking the fowler is our enemy the devil and last week we learned about some of the traps he uses to keep us from following the Lord. Also we learned ways to defend ourselves against those obstacles when we are aware of them. In the dream an angel held up two rectangular purple colored letter blocks to me and wanted me to pick one. I chose the one on the left so he put it in the front of a row of blocks on a table of some sort it was a like a card catalog of my choices. The number on that block was 3341 and as I did with 3352 I looked it up in the Hebrew to find the word that it also spells. The word is yatsath and its meaning is to kindle burn or set on fire. In the dream when I chose this block I knew I had chosen wisely. The angel didn’t tell me but the way I felt is how I feel when I do the right thing. Since I knew this was a spiritual dream its activation must be something spiritual just as fowler was the enemy of spirit. I knew the fire it was talking about is not the fire that burns our flesh it is to set on fire our spirit. God wants to put His fire inside of us so we will burn for Him and everything that isn’t Him will be consumed in it.
One of my favorite bible stories is when Elisha challenged the prophets of Baal to a fire building contest with no way to start a fire. They call on Baal for most of the day and when it’s Elisha’s turn he say’s drench the alter make it impossible to burn. Then as we know he calls on God to set it on fire and God sends an inferno that consumes the sacrifice, alters and everyone evil (1 Kings 18:38). When Moses went up on the mountain to meet with God the Israelites said the glory of God looked like a consuming fire (Exodus 24:1). When Israel went up to fight against Ai God promised they would have victory over them. He commands them when they take the city to set it on fire and let it burn; it was His orders. I believe God is saying the same thing to us not for us to literally burn the city to the ground but to set it on fire in the spirit. Israel had an ambush waiting for the enemy and when they were upon them Israel rose quickly to capture it and set it on fire (Joshua 8:19). The Lord wants us to rise up quickly and take our position to capture the areas we most influence. It might be a city, neighborhood, apartment complex, work or school. Capture those places in the spirit and take dominion of them and when it’s been taken set on fire that place and it will burn with Gods glory. In Ezekiel God tells him to say to the southern forest, I am about to set it on fire and will consume all the trees the green and withered ones. The blazing flames of the fire cannot be put out it will scorch every face from north to south (Ezekiel 20:47). How many of us have forests in our lives where we have been wandering and cannot seem to find our way through. Call on God He will burn the forest to the ground so we can feel the heat His glory on our faces again. Our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29). Set on fire everything that needs to burn up or burn again for God. Chose to burn for the Lord or the fowlers trap will be our fate.
Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
