Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.
Again last week we learned about Gods legal will if we believe in Jesus and that He died so the will of God could take effect. Recently I had a dream about an angel holding two rectangular wooden blocks with numbers on them. If you set them on something flat they were about the size of a business executives name plate on their desk. The face of the block was a pastel purple color with dark purple numbers the back and sides were black. The angel held the blocks up in front of so I could see the numbers on them. The number in the hand on the left was 3341 and the one on the right said 3352. The angel had me pick one and what I chose was directly related to a choice I was making in my life. I am unsure if it was a big choice or something small but it was important to choose the right one. The number on the block I picked was 3341 and when I picked it the angel set it on a surface with columns of blocks on it. The number was slid across the surface with the number facing out and was placed in front of one of the columns. The other number was placed somewhere out of my sight, recycled or saved for later choices. The column I felt represented my past or was like a record of my choices and the block was a current or future decision. In Hebrew words are numbers and numbers are words so I looked both of them up in Strong’s Concordance. 3341 means to set on fire and 3352 means fowler or trapper. Before we look at the choice I made I want us to learn about the fowler, the number block I didn’t choose.
A fowler is a person who sets traps to catch birds or small animals that live off of the ground. Often these traps are not complicated they could easily be avoided if the animal is careful not to be caught in them. Spiritually speaking the enemy is our fowler; he sets traps of temptation, illness or lies for us to fall into. These things cause us to start sinning and drift away from our faith in God. There are ways we can free ourselves from these traps like a bird that is not tricked into the fowlers net. First we must be aware of the traps and how we can avoid getting hung up in them. Trap number one is idols or should I say objects that distract us from following God or doing the right thing (Psalm 106:36). To avoid it we must make sure we spend adequate time seeking the Lord and doing what’s right. We must be careful to know the company we keep and who we allow to influence us because the wicked set a snare that turn us away from the Lord (Psalm 119:110). Having a foolish mouth will be our undoing it is a snare to our lives (Proverbs 18:7). Foolish talk is gossip, cussing, cursing, slander, teasing and speaking about things we don’t know. A fortune or anything built on telling lies is just a fleeting vapor and a dangerous snare (Proverbs 21:6). Another snare is the fear of man it is crippling to us stepping out to do what God has for us because man cannot understand the works of God. But if we trust in the Lord He will keep us safe (Proverbs 29:25). If we find ourselves caught in any snare there is a way out of it and it’s simple. We must turn our eyes to the Lord and keep them there to avoid future traps from the fowler (Psalm 25:15). If we call on the Lord He will save us from the fowler’s snare and all his traps (Psalm 91:3). We can free ourselves by recognizing the fowler’s traps, avoiding them and trusting God to lead us down the safe path.
Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
