Tuesdays Torch week 287

Tuesday’s Torch

By: Tim Sader

Micah 4:1

In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and peoples will stream to it.

Last week we talked about having happy times at all times in our lives and if we trust in God to be the source of happiness we will be. We can be happy because we know He dwells far above everything else that is a mountain in our lives. We all have mountains in our life; ones we are facing, need to get over, can’t conquer or are on top of. I am facing the mountain of muscle disease that on my own I cannot overcome. Some mountains we face are sin, poverty, addiction, illness, depression and fear. Mountains we need to get over are anger, resentment, bitterness, pride and hurts. Mountains we can’t conquer are the hopeless situations that are a sure defeat or impossible for us to do anything about it in the natural. Some of us are fortunate enough to climb mountains and make it to the top of them. These mountains are business, government, media, arts, entertainment, family and education. These are those who have climbed the ladder of success and worked their way to the top. These are the select group of professionals that shape and influence our society. Being on top however does not mean everything is perfect and there are no problems. Increased knowledge and influence brings increased problems and dangers of falling from our place. When the righteous are on top they shape and influence culture for the Lord and godliness starts to grow. The righteous are not on top of many of those mountains most of us are climbing them in one way or another but we have a long way to go before we see it shift the culture. We may not be on top but our God is and He can raise us up to the top; help us climb, conquer or bring down everything that is under His ultimate influence.

The Lord our God laid the foundation of the earth and with His hands the heavens were established (Hebrews 1:10). God told Abraham to leave everything he knew to go to a place he had never been. As he went he was looking for the city with foundations designed and built by God (Hebrews 11:10). When we face mountains in our lives we need to be sure the Lord is the foundation we are building on. At the base of our mountain we choose the foundation. We claim it for God or we face it alone and risk losing our way or falling into one of many pit falls along the way. If we trust in the Lord we will be like the mountain where He dwells and will not be shaken from it forever (Psalm 125:1). God is at the top of His mountain way above the mountain we are facing. We need to worship at His mountain because he is holy (Psalm 99:9). He has climbed to the top of the highest mountain so he can easily help us deal with our mountains. The majestic and rugged mountains gaze to the mountain of God with envy because that is where he dwells forever and nothing compares to it (Psalm 68:15-16). The mountains we face we need to face with the Lord. He will help us climb it, conquer it, or stay on top of it. The mountains that need to be moved if we have faith and believe God can move them they will be moved (Mark 11:23). In the last days the temple of God (his people) will be the highest mountain and others will be drawn to it. The nations will say come let us go to Gods Mountain so we can learn His ways (Micah 4:1-2). If we learn His ways the mountains we face are nothing. He can show us how to deal with it or remove it because He made the mountains and can conquer them all.

Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
