The law of their God is in their hearts; their feet do not slip.
Attention Torch readers don’t worry we’re not going anywhere we just want to announce that our format will be in transition. We will still be bringing a biblical message each week but we want it to feel more personal to our readers. So instead of reviewing last week’s message in full we will be using illustrations, stories, dreams and fresh words from the Lord from the life of our writer. To review all previous messages please check out our website in the final paragraph of each week’s torch. Last week we talked about practical ways each of us can be in the will of God while finding His purpose for us. This got me thinking am I doing what it takes to find His plan for my life. I delight greatly in the Lord I’m always happy and excited when I see Him working in my life and the lives of others. Being in the scriptures is a big part of my life. Loving God and others is the heart I am working every day to have. My heart is broken for loved ones who are falling away, faithless or choosing corruption when God is waiting to transform lives. Is it an easy life? No it’s not always peachy anyone who says different is a liar. I have suffered many things in this life; I have watched my body waste away from uncontrolled muscle loss, I’ve lost people to young in tragic ways. Three years ago yesterday my brother and best friend passed away unexpectedly and it was the hardest thing I ever experienced. These are all reasons I could be mad at God and turn my back on Him but I persevere and He’s using it to lead me into His purpose. If we do our part God is faithful and will help us through our hard times.
When we go to God we must believe in Him without doubting or we are like the waves of the sea tossed by the wind. If we are like this how can we expect God to do anything for us? They are double minded and unstable in all their ways (James 1:6-8). All of us know someone who is double minded and most of us have been that way at one time. If we choose to befriend the things of the world and continue in them while trying to serve God we are against Him. If we choose evil desires over God we are really His enemy. Our God is a jealous God and He cannot share us with the world. He has a longing for the spirit He put inside of us. He will always give grace and show favor to us when we swallow our pride and humble ourselves. We do this by submitting to God and resisting the devil so he will flee from us. The closer we get to God the closer He will be to us. If we have been double minded we need to cleanse ourselves from it and completely turn from our evil ways (James 4:4-8). The double minded should disgust us if we love Gods instruction. The word will be a shield for us if we hope in it. We should stay away from evildoers so we are not tempted to be double minded (Psalm 119:113-115). If the word of God is truly in our heart we will not slip away from Him. He will uphold the blameless that put their trust in Him without wavering. He will test our hearts and minds to see if we are careful to be devoted to Him and rely on His faithfulness (Psalm 26:1-3). Abraham did not waver with unbelief when God told him he’d be a father in his old age. Instead he believed and was fully persuaded God would fulfill His promise (Romans 4:18-21). We cannot waver between the world and God or we are double minded and God can do nothing for us. We are unstable and God will be jealous for us because He really longs to love us if we will be devoted to Him.
Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
