When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins
If we will do what it takes to enter into righteousness through Christ we will avoid the coming wrath of God. His wrath is necessary as a final answer to our choosing to remain wicked and away from His love. What the righteous does will end well but the wicked only find wrath. God is not easily angered and we usually punish ourselves but His wrath will come as a last resort to the ungodly. Being stubborn an unrepentant stores up wrath for us in the end. Being selfish and rejecting the truth makes Him angry and brings us wrath. Being easily deceived by meaningless words causes disobedience because the ungodly feel no need to obey God. This will bring His wrath. Lastly we experience His wrath when we won’t accept His Son as our savior after He gave His life for us. Whoever believes in Christ receives eternal life. If we seek Him we are no longer guilty of sin and will not receive wrath from God. Our destiny is not wrath rather it is salvation through Christ. Receiving the wrath of God is our choice if we will remain stubborn, selfish, disobedient and easily deceived. But if we seek the truth of salvation in Jesus Christ we will be raised up with Him. The very first Tuesdays Torch ever written was about the wages of sin is death but God’s gift is eternal life in Christ (Romans 6:23). I mentioned this topic had endless possibilities so here’s another revelation I received about this verse. Often times it is preached that if we keep sinning that that sin will cause us to die. This can happen but that’s not all this is saying. The wages of sin IS death, means we all die because that is always its wages.
Since the wages of sin is death and all have sinned and must first die because that is what sin owes us. When we were without God we were dead in our sins and transgressions because they are what rules in this world. We all lived at one time to satisfy the flesh by following our carnal thoughts and desires. By nature we deserve the wrath of God because we were born into sin. Because God loved us and showed us mercy He made us alive in Christ while were still sinners by offering us the gift of salvation (Ephesians 2:1-5). This free gift however is not the wages of sin it still owes us our payment of death. We either stay dead in our sin until we die or we die to self and our raised up in Christ. Sin can only end if we will die in one way or another. If we accept the gift of salvation we were buried with Christ when He was baptized into death. And since He took death upon Himself we are also raised with Him into eternal life when He was raised from the dead. If we are united with Him in death then we are also resurrected with Him into life. Our old sinful self was crucified when Christ died so our sin could be done away with so we could be set free from it. If we died with Him by choosing Him we have received the free gift of eternal life. When Christ died He died to sin once and for all but now He lives His life for God. In Him we should count ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:4-11). Christ offered us the gift of life when we were dying because of sin and the only way we get it is by dying to our sinful way a taking part in the forgiveness of sin. He nailed our sins to the cross with Him to cancel the debt we owed to it (Colossians 2:13-15). The wages of sin is death either we live to die or we die to live because Christ overcame death on the cross.
Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: email@example.com and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
