2 Thessalonians 3:5
May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
If we want to be reigning with God we must not get puffed up in ourselves by giving into our sinful ways. Often times those who serve God get frustrated when the wicked prevail and the righteous seem to suffer. Habakkuk asked God why He allowed the wicked to practice treachery and consume the righteous. The wicked often use sin as bate to reel others in and lead them away from God. Why are they allowed to continue this destructive behavior? God answers look the wicked are puffed up but the righteous live by faith knowing what is to come. What the wicked do now is all they get and whatever wrong they do will come back on them. The greedy and arrogant cannot rest because they are not satisfied and crave attention. Those who extort and steal have to always watch their back in case the victim comes to collect the goods. Those who receive ill-gotten wealth will fall from their position because they plotted the ruin of others. This is their shame and everything they build will remind them of it. A city built by injustice is built in vain because it will belong to God someday. Those who expose their neighbor by enticing them to sin will drink the cup of judgment from God. The wicked are overwhelmed by their wickedness. The puffed up serve self and stuff that cannot save them. If we are of faith we know He is in control and we have forever to enjoy His goodness. Those of us in faith will let the Lord direct our hearts into Gods love and Christ’s diligence that saved us. If we stay in Christ He will help direct us to walk in love so it will be easy for us to follow this simplest of commands. Serving God should be easy because Jesus came to make it that way.
If we fear the Lord we will submit our lives to Him and allow Him to guide us. He will teach us the way to go so we can make better choices. When we do what is right we find ourselves at ease because we are going the right way. Our children will inherit the legacy we leave to them so if we served the Lord they will inherit from us that lifestyle (Psalm 25:12-13). The Lord says to us bring your worries and burdens to me and in return I will give you rest. He tells us to take His yoke upon us by learning from Him. He is gentle and humble in heart so we will find rest in Him for all our worries. The burden He gives is not hard and over bearing it is easy (Matthew 11:28-30). Notice though it does not say we will not have a burden it says it will be easy if we come to God. Trusting Him is the lesser burden but by trusting the greater burden of worry we get to put it to rest. His burden is light it teaches us the right way to go which is easier than doing everything without Him. Taking care of anything that seems too great to us is easy to the Lord. He will deliver us from the armies of the enemy we face (2 Kings 3:18). Anything we can imagine to be difficult is nothing to the God who created everything from nothing. It is better to live in peace and tranquility than to toil after doing things that can be easy if we trust God to deal with it (Ecclesiastes 4:6). By thinking we don’t need God or being stubborn and doing it our way is making a mockery of God. When they seek wisdom it will not be found but if we learn to discern what is God it will be easy to gain knowledge (Proverbs 14:6). By learning from Christ and following the righteous path our burden will be easy because He took our difficulties upon Himself.
Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
