“See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright—but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness.”
The Christian majority is not only called to follow Him; we are supposed to reign with Him forever. However we cannot reign if we will not humble our hearts to Him. The anger of God toward our sinful ways cannot be subdued. Only by submitting to His goodness can we be made good. Evil doers will not inherit the kingdom it is reserved for those who believe. We must lay down our sinful ways and by grace be raised with Christ and seated with Him in the heavenlies. This is so that in the ages to come we can see His kindness and grace. Through the church His wisdom which is Christ coming to save us will be made known to the world. So that we can come to God with confidence. In knowing wisdom we will have the power and authority over the heavenly realm and will be reigning with Christ. Being true to the end means we will reign forever with Him. When we are faithless God is faithful to us but those who disown Him will be disowned by Him. If life is training for reigning let us grow up in Him so we can put our training into action. If we live by faith we know what we have in store for eternity. The evil however are puffed up and think they don’t need God. Their desires are not upright because they are selfish and chose to do everything their own way. Often this is leading them further away from God. Those of us who believe in God many times find ourselves frustrated that the wicked seem to be doing just fine while we face many difficulties. We ask God how an evil person can be so well off and why are evil doers allowed to continue in their evil. Why doesn’t God keep bad things from happening to innocent people?
These are the questions Habakkuk asked God to answer for him. He said, You cannot look on evil so why do You tolerate their treachery? Why do the wicked swallow up the righteous? It seems the righteous have been made to be like fishes in the sea. The wicked use bate to entice us and soon we are reeled in while they enjoy the best of everything. Why are they allowed to continue this behavior that destroys without mercy (Habakkuk 1:12-17). God’s first response is look at the wicked see how they are puffed up in doing what is unrighteous. The righteous however live by faith knowing that they will inherit a far greater glory than anything the wicked can build. The wicked are sure of two things; their reward now is all they get and what goes around comes around. The arrogant and greedy never rest because they are never satisfied and want the people to be captivated by them. Yet they will be taunted, scorned and ridiculed by the same people. Those who get wealthy by stealing and extortion always have to watch their backs from who they plundered. Those who get by on unjust gain will fall from their nest because they plotted the ruin of others. This brings shame to their house and everything they build will remind them of it. Those who build a city with injustice labor in vain because the earth will be filled with the glory of God. Those who get their neighbors drunk to entice them will get their turn when the Lord makes them drink the cup of judgment to expose their sins. The wicked will be overwhelmed by their treachery it will terrorize them. The puffed up serve a god of self and possessions that do nothing to save them from destruction (Habakkuk 2:5-20). The righteous need not worry over any of this because we know God is on the throne and the puffed up will be deflated when He shows up.
Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: email@example.com and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
