2 Chronicles 12:12
Because Rehoboam humbled himself, the Lord’s anger turned from him, and he was not totally destroyed. Indeed, there was some good in Judah.
We need to be a benefit to others so they can join with us and our multitudes can grow as believers daily come into the church. There are many religions trying to figure out what Jesus has already done for us. It’s hard for the world to choose a religion but if it were solely based on numbers Christianity wins by majority rule. The world and many Christians believe our numbers are fading but there are a billion or so of us that say otherwise. We are still one of the largest people groups in the world and we are growing daily. God said we would rule nations and there are many nations where we do and America will be one of them again. We rule the nations in number of believers but even if it wasn’t so it is still so because any one of us with God is still the majority. Together with the hosts of heaven there are more of us then them. The sound coming from the mountain is the kingdoms of the earth coming together to do battle for the Lord using love to conquer instead of hate. Love will bring more to the Lord like we read in Acts after Peter’s first sermon when the Lord added to their numbers daily. With all the congregations of believers we see now that number is multiplied exponentially. Together with God and multitudes of saints there’s no doubt we have the majority with us. Christianity is going nowhere we have the majority and Jesus is coming back to take His rightful place as King. If we belong to Him we not only will see this happen but we will be reigning with Him. Only by humbling our hearts to God by faith can we accomplish this incredible thing that we get to do forever.
Unfortunately not everyone will get to reign with Him because if we will not give our hearts to Him we cannot. His anger toward our sinful self cannot be subdued if we will not be humble allowing His goodness to make us good. We have heard that wrong doers will not inherit the kingdom God He is giving those who believe. If we chose to live our lives only to satisfy the man of sin we are not living for Him and we can expect nothing from God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). By giving our lives to Christ we lay down doing what we want and let God love us by showering us with mercy and grace. By grace God has raised us up with Christ and seated us in heavenly places with Him. So in the ages to come He may show us how amazing His grace and kindness is toward us who believed (Ephesians 2:4-7). His intent is that through us, the church, His wisdom should be made known to rulers in the heavenlies. This is Gods eternal purpose that he fulfilled in sending Christ to save us. He did this so we can have the confidence to approach Him with freedom and confidence (Ephesians 3:10-12). To make the wisdom of God known means we have the authority over the heavenly realm. Like Christ reigned in power we should be reigning with Him in this age and the one to come. If we have died to ourselves to be raised up with Christ we will live for Him. And if we hang with Him until the end we will reign with Him for eternity. By choosing to disown Him He will disown us. Not that He wants to because even when we are faithless He is faithful still and won’t disown us. But if we reject Him He has no choice (2 Timothy 2:11-13). A good quote we should remember is that in this life we are training for reigning. If we humble ourselves and grow in Him we will be reigning with Christ forever.
Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
