2 Kings 6:16
“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
Sometimes we must learn to go overboard to be a benefit to others. If we follow Christ our lives should be bright because of the word and revelation to the spirit. We must be careful to see our knowledge is truth so we are not spreading lies. We are not from God if we do so and it benefits no one with lies. The first way we can benefit others is by visiting them to help or encourage them. If God has trusted us with wisdom we must be faithful with it and not worried about what others or we may think. Only God is Judge and we must learn to benefit others so they can learn about the Lord. We must speak what we know is God because only it has the power to change and save us. It benefits others to know of the grace of God causing them to praise and thank Him with us. We cannot let corrupt communication come out of us but only what is beneficial to the needs of others. Saying the right thing is the last of many ways we can benefit others. Our benefit to others is a big deal to the Lord; it refreshes the weary and is pleases Him. Today there are many religions out there trying to do many of the things we discuss every week in Tuesdays Torch. How can we be sure which one is the right one? If there weren’t countless evidence that Christianity works for believers I would look at the numbers and realize majority rules.
Many people with a worldly view where religion is concerned seem to think God is irrelevant today. This is a sad way of thinking because to those people I say 1.2 billion people, give or take a few can’t be all wrong. In America a popular belief is that Christians are the minority. When the truth is around the world Christianity is still number one and the majority rules. God said that we who follow him would lend to many nations and borrow from none and we would lead nations and be led by none (Deuteronomy 15:6). Christianity has touched many nations to where certain places are predominately so. We rule the nations in number of believers so we are leading the nations and showing them Christ. Even if we feel alone God and the hosts of heaven are greater than all the armies of the world. No matter what if we got God and choose Him we have majority rule so we win. There is a great multitude making a noise in the mountains. It is the kingdoms of the earth massing together to do war for the Lord (Isaiah 13:4). Our war is against darkness and evil in heavenly places and our greatest weapon is love. If we love others more will come to the Lord and the more majority we rule. The first sermon preached after the healing of the man at the gate beautiful brought 3,000 new converts to the Lord (Acts 2:41). After that it says they continued meeting together and breaking bread with glad and sincere hearts, praising God for the favor He showed to them. In doing so the Lord added to their numbers daily (Acts 2:46-47). It seems to me like this pattern has not ended but instead has multiplied as more congregations gather and welcome sheep into the fold. The one in us is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Together with Him whatever our number we have the majority and we rule through Him. In heaven is a multitude from every nation so large they cannot be counted (Revelation 7:9). When we think we are insignificant or that Christianity has lost its place remember God has majority rule and the numbers to back up the argument.
Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: email@example.com and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
