I do wish, brother, that I may have some benefit from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ.
If we keep our hearts burning for God we are good; if not sometimes we must go overboard to get back on track. If we are running from destiny the only way to get there is by jumping back in and finding a new ride to get there. Storms in life sometimes come when we are trying to run from our destiny and the only way to change is to go overboard and trust God to save us and take us to where we should be. All of us have something to do for God and He wants us to be willing so circumstance doesn’t have to bring us there. Excess is bad in some circumstance but going overboard for the Lord is both necessary and worth it in the long run. One time Israel went overboard in giving till they had to be restrained. If we give like this the Bible say we will reap in the same way. David wanted to be prepared for Goliath so he collected five stones though it really only took one. Being prepared is always better than not finish a task. Peter had to go overboard so he could go to Jesus on the water when He said come. Peter did sink but at least he went and because he did Jesus was there to save him. Going overboard to go after Jesus may look impossible at times but He will save us from the ragging sea. We need to go overboard for Him like we are trying to win the race. To reap a plentiful harvest we must sow an overabundance of good seed. Running away from God is unwise but if we do, going overboard will help us reach our destiny. Part of us running a good race in this life is how we handle those others in our lives. What is our benefit to others or do we only want to benefit our selfish ways?
If we are following Christ our lives should be beneficial to those in the world around us. God has made wisdom available to us in the word and through revelation to our spirit. Our brightness should be like that of the sun benefiting all who see it (Ecclesiastes 7:11). We must be careful to know that wisdom is from God and nothing else before we send it out. So we will not declare deception and lead others astray with lies. If we are not being honest messengers we are not from God and we benefit no one (Jeremiah 23:32). If we are confident the Lord is sending us out to share something with others one way we can benefit them is by visiting them (2 Corinthians 1:15). We should be seen as trust worthy servants of Christ entrusted with the many mysteries of God. We must prove trustworthy and faithful with this wisdom, not worrying about judgment of others or of self. That way we can have a clear conscience knowing that only God is our Judge and pleasing Him is our priority. We must learn to apply these things to our lives for the benefit of others so they can learn about the Lord and not about being self-righteous (1 Corinthians 4:1-6). What we know to be faith in God is what we must learn to speak because we know it has the power to raise up those who will believe in Christ and be saved. This is for the benefit of others so they can know the grace provided, causing an abundance of thanksgiving and glory to God (2 Corinthians 4:13-15). We cannot let corrupt communication come out of our mouths but instead what is helpful in building up the needs of others. Speaking what is right is the final way we will discuss about being beneficial to others (Ephesians 4:29). Our benefit to others in the Lord is important it refreshes the heart of those who hear it and it pleases the God.
Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: email@example.com and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
