Tuesdays Torch week 261

Tuesday’s Torch

Proverbs 24:16

Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.

Last week we had one last review of the dreams and vision about the Christian Healthcare Commission (CHC). Then we talked about Christ and how he is the greatest gift this holiday season. If we take Him out of it Christmas is just any other night. Not all the traditions are of Christian origins but if we honor Christ above all else we celebrate Him. In reading the nativity story we paid close attention to what was said to the main characters. A common topic when angels talk is for us to fear not. We cannot fear whatever the Spirit of God has birthed in us or told us to do. We should not fear joining ourselves together with whom or what we are being called to be a part of. God didn’t need Joseph to create Jesus but he was given that great honor because he agreed to be a part of it. By doing so he got to be part of the greatest story ever told. Christ brought great joy and peace to everyone that day to whom the favor of God rests. His favor is available today for anyone who will accept Him as their gift before this year comes to an end. At the temple Simeon said Jesus would cause many to fall and rise up, be spoken against to reveal men’s thoughts and be a sword to pierce His mother’s soul. Jesus did all of this for us whom His favor rests when He died to save us. What He did for us should pierce our souls so we can let Him in. The angels proclaimed Glory to God, peace and favor to all mankind. New things seem to bring the most joy to us. Start the year off by making Jesus new for the first time or again by giving Him our attention like the shepherds did over 2,000 years ago.

The New Year is an opportunity for us to make positive changes in our lives. It is one time of year when we can begin again. The wicked stay down when trouble comes but when the righteous stumble and fall they rise up again. We begin again the same way we started when we first found the Lord. In the beginning the Word was with God and it was with God (John 1:1). To give Him our attention we must go to the beginning by getting to know the Word of God again. There is no new commandment for us to begin again. The old commandment is the word we heard from the beginning (1 John 2:7). If we will get in the word and stay in it we will know his commands and be able to walk in them. The greatest command from the beginning is that we would love each other. If we love we will live like we have been commanded to (2 John 1:5-6). So to begin again we must love. Jesus is the Word and He showed us great love when He laid His life down for us. He is the one on the throne who makes all things new again. We can begin again because He can make us new when we come to Him. He is the beginning and the end this year, the end of us falling down and the beginning of us getting back up again. If we thirst for Him we will find a fountain filled with water that brings life. If we are victorious by not staying down and believing in God we will receive an inheritance as children of God. If we are cowardly, unbelieving and choose to stay wicked our inheritance will be the lake of fire which is death again (Revelation 21:5-8). If any have stumbled or fallen away from the Lord get up and turn back to Him for this New Year. He takes great pleasure when we begin again.

Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
