“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
After learning some things to help our dreams and desires happen we discussed the past year in a nutshell. We briefly covered all my dreams I had leading up to the Christian Healthcare Commission (CHC) download. I dreamt about a Big God, the world looking to the church for answers, doctors teaming up with spiritual healers, touring old medical facilities and looking at land to build on. I experienced a great out pouring in Florida. After going back to church I connected with a home group to grow in my gifts and share my vision. The mission of CHC is to bring Jesus back into healthcare in these three ways. Beabled ministry builds believers when they are feeling weak by helping find their potential. Body Builders helps those in the church connect by finding their part through spiritual gifts, activation and fellowship. And the Christian Medical Community (CMEDCOM) is the place where faith and medicine combines to heal the whole man. This was followed by dreams of great courage and determination to hold true to our faith to change the world for ourselves and others. This holiday season I am seeing two extremes those who are going broke to show holiday cheer and those who won’t celebrate because Christmas has lost its meaning. In a play I attended I learned that if we took Christ out of Christmas it would just be any other night. I know the customs aren’t all kosher or Christian but the most important gift is Christ. If we honor His birth we are celebrating Him this season.
When I was reading through the Christmas scriptures I paid attention to what was said by the angels and the priests. The first thing the angel said to Mary was “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God.” If we replace our name with Mary’s in the above sentence the Lord is instructing us to have no fear of what has been birthed inside of us. If we trust in Him we will see we have found His favor. Like the birth of Jesus, that thing will be great and it’ll be part of our inheritance forever (Luke 1:30-33). The angel told Joseph in a dream not to be afraid to take Mary as his wife because what was growing in her was from the Holy Spirit. When the Spirit has called us to do something we should not fear being part of it. God did not need Joseph for Jesus to be born; he was honored with the privilege of being part of raising the boy who would soon save us all (Matthew 1:20-21). When Jesus was to be born an angel appeared to the shepherds and said do not be afraid I have good news that will be great joy for all people (Luke 2:9-10). The birth of a baby or the start of something new brings great joy to those involved in it. So how much more joy was it when God gave His son as a gift to save us? That is why we say Glory to God in the highest and peace to those whom His favor rests. Who of us has His favor? All of us who chose to receive the gift of Christ are those whom His favor rests. When Jesus was dedicated in the temple an older man Simeon, spoke a blessing to Mary about Jesus. He said, “This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too (Luke 2:34-35).” Jesus brought down the pomp of the religious and introduced a better way for those whom His favor rests. He revealed what was in men’s hearts and His sacrifice pierced the heart of many who would accept Him as a gift from God.
Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
