All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
In my final dream about the Christian Healthcare Commission no harm came to me when I was unafraid of sure destruction. What are our dreams telling us to do? The Lord wants to establish us as a city on a hill in the field we are called to. He wants the world to look up and see us at the top so they will come there to. If we are diligent God will give us the desire of our heart. After all he put it there and called us to it. Sometimes our plans get in the way because His purpose prevails over our plans. If we love Him we will come into agreement with His purpose because we will not go where He is not going with us. We maybe can’t do it on our own but if God put it in us He will help fulfill it. If we desire what is not good it is of the flesh and we cannot love Him like we should by doing what we want. To love Him we must follow Him; it will be much easier if we do. His way may not look like we think but our dreams will come to pass because he will fulfill the good purpose of our heart. All of us are not called to ministry. Usually He wants to use us where we are so we can be that city the world will run to and be saved. If we love the Lord this is not difficult because our desire will be what He desires and we will want to be involved in what God is doing. If we commit our works to the Lord He will establish us into a city of glory and light. Seeing our dreams come to pass will not happen without us being willing do our part. Anything that’s worth doing cannot be done if we will not work hard to do it.
Work is one of the purposes man was created for. When God put Adam in the Garden of Eden it was so he could do the work of caring for it (Genesis 2:15). Working gives our lives a purpose and helps us appreciate what God blessed us with. Unfortunately when man fell work became much more difficult because of the curse. Instead of managing what God created man had to learn to break up the ground and do hard work just to eat (Genesis 3:23). Work is not only part of the curse it was done in the Garden of God to. If we belong to the Lord we should see work as a blessing because it’s how we live up to our responsibility. Hard work brings us a profit but only talking about what needs to be done leads to poverty. In context to our dreams they will only stay dreams if we only talk about them. We must do the hard work it takes to make that thing happen or it probably won’t. If we will not do all we can why would God help do the rest? He will gladly help anyone who is willing to take the steps by doing what we can; then He can do what we cannot. The Apostles showed us that we need to work hard in whatever we do especially when doing what ministers to others. We are more blessed when we give then we receive so we should give the best even if that means working hard to be a blessing (Acts 20:35). Even when we have put all into our dreams and are yet to see any results from our striving we must continue in our work (1 Corinthians 4:12). If we have come this far we cannot quit; our profit maybe just around the corner. If not keep working and it will pay off at some point or seek God for a new direction work hard at it. Another side to hard work is to remember those who work hard to get things done for us (1 Thessalonians 5:12). Sometimes just saying thanks is enough to help others continue in doing their good work. Hard work is part of the human experience. We can see it as a blessing or a curse but there is no escaping it if we want to survive and have a meaningful life.
Recently Tuesdays Torch has expanded its reach by building our official website http://www.tuesdaystorch.com . With the addition of the Daily Spark and Scripture Pictures we are further spreading the message of Christ. We have accepted the opportunity for Tuesday’s Torch to be in Redeemed the Magazine for prisoners. The founder and author of Tuesdays Torch Tim Sader, has spoken in church and has several other speaking engagements lined up for the near future. We pray the words of this Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward Tuesdays Torch to encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that would like to partner with Tuesdays Torch please let us know. We pray the Lord will touch every reader. All of what Christ did was so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesday we talk a little more about what He did and what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was send His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer we pray they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch on our website, by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
