Tuesday’s Torch

 Hebrews 10:25

Do not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encourage one another—all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Last week gave some back ground to the place I was at in my life early in 2009. At the beginning of that year I started the Torch after reading the entire bible. God also answered my prayer for a relationship that year. The relationship was great but it fell apart and left me in a rough place for quite awhile. The only way I got through it was by keeping my focus on the Lord and continuing to write these bible studies. I decided to learn to love God like I once loved her and as I drew closer to Him; He restored my heart. After dreaming of looking at land I had a dream of the inside of an old medical facility. Everything was old, dirty and covered in dust. The facility needed to be restored or it was useless. When we are good to bless others God sees that we are protected and restores our health. He causes us to be restored to make the spirit feel alive when that situation turns around. God is in the restoration business He restores the places devastated by our enemy. Since we’ve been restored through Christ the Holy Spirit comes to give us power so we can influence the field He’s shown us. To see His Kingdom now we must get busy building up the dream God has placed in us. We are all a restoration project God is working on and we are restored more by restoring the ground the enemy has stolen.

Also around the time I was having these dreams a pastor at church got us involved in a home group for families with “special needs.” My mom, brother and me really enjoyed this group and made instant friends with the family hosting the group. This group helped me find like minded people who understood things from the same perspective. I shared some of my vision with the group and we all agreed the Lord was in it. Gathering together with other believers is so important in us growing spiritually and confirming what the Lord has shown us. We should not forsake meeting together as some believers do because of various reasons. When we gather it is a time for building each other up so we can continue doing good until we’re called home to the Lord (Hebrews 10:24-25). We are recommended to have fellowship together. When we eat we are to eat together so no one misses out on being together (1 Corinthians 11:33). Also there is more power when we come together and share the burdens that we face. When just two or three gather the Lord is there with them so there is great strength in numbers (Matthew 18:20). When the Lord sends the angel to blow the trumpet and call us home we will then all be together forever. We should encourage one another and get used to being together because we will be hanging out for a really long time (1 Thessalonians 4:16). Just as I was encouraged after going to the home group being together should lift us up. The Lord dwells among us when we gather together helping one another and building up the faith of others. We should remember psalms and the lessons we have learned to teach other believers what to do. We are to sing songs and make a joyful noise with gratitude in our hearts because God is with us (Colossians 3:16). He has told us to gather so we would share our love and good deeds, to grow our gifts and encourage our seeking after the Lord.

We will be expanding the reach of Tuesdays Torch to shine our light so others can see it and be saved.  We pray the words of this Tuesdays Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers.  Please feel free to forward The Torch to others so we can encourage them with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that could benefit from the sharing Tuesdays Torch please let us know so together we can spread the light into dark places. We pray the Lord will continue touching every reader. All of what Christ did He did so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesdays Torch we talk a little more about what He did and talk about what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was sending us His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer our prayer is that they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: tuesdaystorch@gmail.com and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!

No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16

Tuesday’s Torch

 Isaiah 61:4

They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.

Before dreaming about the birds or looking at the land with my pastors 2009 seemed to be the best and worst year of my life. For some time I asked God to help me find the right woman to be in a relationship with. Just after I started the torch that year God answered my prayer and I was in love. Everything seemed perfect even through lost jobs, another hospital stay for me and trying to put God first in our relationship. I was ready to spend the rest of my life with her when things seemed to just fall apart. Both of us had our reasons why this happened. Everything changed fast between us and we both left hurt in our own ways. For me it was like losing a part of myself but life went on from there and I was ok. I found peace in the Lord and decided to put an effort into loving Him as much as I had loved her. The dreams I had that year happened as I drew closer to God than I had ever been. He tells us to earnestly seek Him for gifts and revelation so He showed up in my dreams and rocked my world. Last week we discussed my second dream that year climbing the hill and seeing the land. The field I saw was the field waiting for a Godly change in healthcare. We all have territory to expand our calling into. Our field is where we can help build his kingdom so we can testify to His great love working through us. The world is influenced by evil but if we build our territory we reclaim it for the Lord.

After my failed relationship God restored me to change my focus again onto Him. Near the end of 2009 I had another dream in this healthcare series of dreams. I was touring an old rundown medical facility probably built before the great depression and shut down in the early 1970s. Cob webs and thick dust covered all the old equipment and it was a spooky scene. This dream represented a need for restoration to healthcare in this country. The restoration we can only find if we look to the one who restores our health. God blesses us when we remember those who are weak. We are protected from our enemy and when we are sick He restores our health (Psalm 41:1-3). These hardships the Lord delivers us from is what lets us know we’re alive. The spirit finds life when God restores us to health and lets us live (Isaiah 38:16). As my pastor says, “God is in the restoration business.” He wants to rebuild the places that have been devastated by our common enemies. We belong to Him so we must restore the territory we influence so it will be place for Him to be seen in it again. Before Christ went into heaven they asked if he was going to restore the kingdom of Israel. He said it is not for us to know the time or dates the Father has set. Instead He said that we would receive the power from the Holy Spirit to be witness of Him in all the earth (Acts 1:6-8). Therefore if we want to see His Kingdom we must get busy restoring the places the enemy has stolen by building what God has shown us so He can be seen in it. God has called each of us to bring Him greater glory in Christ. We all are a restoration project built upon suffering the consequences of sin in our flesh. Through restoration in Christ we are strong, firm and steadfast (1 Peter 5:10). He restored us so we could restore to Him everything the enemy thinks He has stolen from the Lord.

Tuesday’s Torch

 1 Chronicles 4:10

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

In 2009 I had a dream about all different kinds of birds gathering in a city for a festival honoring them for their unity and knowledge. These birds knew how to fix the problems our world was facing and the people were seeking those answers. These birds represent the different churches because we are where the world looks for spiritual solutions. We represent the kingdom of God and we should be the example of the way God does things. Just as Jesus was our example we are to be examples sacrificing self so they will see Jesus and He will do things right. We must learn to properly influence the world so they can see Jesus and join the flocks with us. The answers the world is looking for can only be answered if the church comes together and shows the world how God wants it done. We have the answer and the answer is seeking Him to be that answer. We have been given territory to do in it what God want us to do. Later in 2009 in a dream I was looking at land with two pastors from church. In this dream my brother and I were in our wheelchairs and the pastors were walking with us. The red clay path we were on got rougher the further we went along. Suddenly it turned to the right up a steep hill and the trail became very uneven. My brother being more daring than me managed fine so he went ahead and disappeared from my sight. I had a hard time keeping control and balancing myself but after the struggle I made it to the top. Just as I reached the top a large field came into view and that field had something to do with what the Lord is planning for what He’s shown me about healthcare.

In the dream I the empty field I seen represented healthcare but this field is different for each of us. This field was just a field waiting to be used for a greater purpose. We are to influence the territory God has showed us by expanding it and building it up into the dream He put in us. Everywhere Israel went they prospered and increased their territory (Genesis 47:27). So us being children of God we should be building up His kingdom in the field we influence. In an oath long ago God promised to enlarge the territory of His people if they would follow after Him. By walking always in His ways and loving Him in all that we do where ever we will go He will build it up (Deuteronomy 19:8-9). God has called us all into a field so we can do great things. Boasting in the works of others does not show what God is doing for us. For this reason we should be busy working to expand our own territory so that in our field we can show the goodness of God. The influence we have over others when their faith grows we gain territory for the Lord (2 Corinthians 10:15-16). When Satan took Jesus up on the high mountain top he offered to Him all the nations of the world if He would worship him. Notice Satan offers to Him the nations so they are under the influence of the evil one. Jesus answers back by saying, “it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only (Matthew 4:8-10).” The nations are influenced by evil but they belong to God. If we worship and follow Him the places we influence become His territory and we take back what the enemy has taken from us. Our prayer needs to be the prayer of Jabez for the Lord to bless us, expand our territory and keep us safe so we can better build in our field (1 Chronicles 4:10).

Tuesday’s Torch

02/05/13

By: Tim Sader

 1 Peter 2:21

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

The world as we knew it seemed to be falling apart in 2008 with the financial collapse of the economy in America. Shortly after President Obama took office there was talk of reevaluating our current health care system. God placed a burning in me during this time for the church to rise up and do health care the way He wants it done. The way of this world should be different from how the church does things. His ways are higher than ours and we have access to know His perfect way in doing things. The spirit of God has renewed our minds through believing in Christ so we should get busy doing thing how He shows us to. No one believer can do it all but by bring together all the pieces and following Him we will get things right when we do them. Early in 2009 I had a dream of all different flocks of birds gathering in a city for a festival in honor of them. The city looked like Charlotte, NC but it represented the Kingdom of God in the World. The flocks were different congregations gathering together to receive the honor together. The streets were barricaded and people gathered around looking intently at the unity of the birds. The people were seeking answers to something and the birds had the answer. The unity of the birds was impressive and what they were doing the people wanted to do it to. These birds were setting an example about how things should be done and the world was showing them honor for it.

The church is where the world looks for spiritual answers. We set the example for them to follow. Are we being the best example we can be? In most cases churches have more problems than solutions yet alone us coming together to be an example to the world. This must change! Christ came and set the example for us on how to live our lives pleasing to God. He taught us to not think of ourselves better than anyone but to be the servant of all (John 13:15). As we follow the example of Christ others should follow our example (1 Corinthians 11:1). Are we showing them Christ or Self? Showing the world Christ’s way is not easy but it is necessary if we want them to see Him. We must sacrifice self by not following the desires of the flesh just as Christ sacrificed Himself for us all. To do this we must walk in love and follow the example we been given (Ephesians 5:1-2). If we will follow the steps of Christ He will guide us in showing the world what is right. As Christians we all have a circle of influence be it five people or five million and we set the example for them. We are their model for Godly living. By watching us they get their ideas of what it means to be a Christian. Are we being a good example? Hopefully the answer is yes because their eyes are on us and those who live like we live so we should look a lot like Jesus (Philippians 3:17). Part of knowing the Lord is ministering to others. Those we influence are the flock we been called to watch over. We might be birds in a larger flock under the care of those who minister to us but we must be the example to those who we influence. We do this by serving them so in turn they will learn to be servants to the ones they will be examples to (1 Peter 5:2-3). Christians are the birds and we shepherd the flocks of man. They are looking for answers that can only be given by us being an example of how God wants things to be.
