1 John 2:20
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.
With thoughts on the care I received and all I had learned about healing swimming around in my head I was uncertain what to think. Without a doubt I knew the Lord is our healer. He did all He could to save us, heal us and set us free. Most healing however does not happen in churches. People go to hospitals hoping they can help but there’s only so much man can do. What we cannot do God can so He is the missing link. One purpose we have as believers is to heal the sick so we need to be actively involved in their lives. After leaving the hospital in December 2007 it felt great to be as good as they could make me. Somewhere along the way I recommitted my life to God and I was ready to live it out. Recovery was rough for about a month. During that time I got into watching a lot of Christian programs and preaching. I fell in love with the Word again and read the bible in a year. I cleaned a lot of filth out of my life, stumbling some but not falling down. The desire I had was to get back to church. After watching MorningStar I seen they met in Fort Mill, SC at what used to be Heritage USA. One day my mom came to me and said “let’s pick a church to start going to.” I told her about MorningStar and since it was close enough we tried it in March of 2008. We had been out of Church six years so we didn’t know what to think but we liked the anointing. Around the time we decided to go to MorningStar I had been watching the Lakeland, FL Revival. Being in the anointing of God becomes addicting and you want to follow it wherever it is. My brother, me and my friends set out on our faith adventure. They had to care for us both since we both used wheelchairs.
Leaving the comforts of home took us all a lot of faith but we knew the Lord wanted us to experience the great anointing in that place. When seeking the Lord for anything sometimes the anointing is what makes the difference. Going to church or some big revival is not the only place to find His anointing. God is anywhere we need Him to be so seeking Him brings us under His anointing. By accepting Jesus Christ the Son of God into our lives we have been anointed of God to know the truth (1 John 2:20). This truth is how later we know when we are under His anointing. If the truths do not line up with the truth we find in God’s Word it is of an anointing contrary to what we believe and we want no part of it. The anointing we know will always glorify God and show Jesus’ love for us. Knowing the anointing is not learned, it is felt by the believer in our Spirit. The anointing teaches us what the real anointing is and how to spot a counterfeit. By keeping close to the Anointed One we keep the anointing close at hand (1 John 2:27). By living His righteousness and forsaking wickedness we have been made different. We will be filled with an anointing of joy others cannot understand (Hebrews 1:9). Part of healing the sick is covering them with the anointing. The elders of the church are called to pray for the sick and anoint them with oil. The prayer of faith given with the anointing is the perfect prescription. It will make the sick well and forgive them of sin (James 5:14-15). The Lakeland Revival ended in a bit of a mess but it had good fruit. People were saved, healed and restored. Being there let me know it was all about Jesus so the anointing was true and my life was blessed to experience the Lord in such a place.
We will be expanding the reach of Tuesdays Torch to shine our light so others can see it and be saved. We pray the words of this Tuesdays Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward The Torch to others so we can encourage them with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that could benefit from the sharing Tuesdays Torch please let us know so together we can spread the light into dark places. We pray the Lord will continue touching every reader. All of what Christ did He did so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesdays Torch we talk a little more about what He did and talk about what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was sending us His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer our prayer is that they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. Luke 8:16
