Tuesdays Torch week 208

Tuesday’s Torch

12/25/12

 Ecclesiastes 1:10

Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.

Last week we learned that when we weep or mourn we are not alone. Jesus wept when he was sad and we should weep with others too. God hears us crying from heaven; He hates to see bad things happen but through it He is there waiting to help. It is no doubt Jesus wept when those children died in Connecticut but on the other side he welcomed them with open arms. God does not cause evil to happen. The enemy does it to tempt God hoping He will lose control and become less of Himself. His focus is helping us when we are sad because when we cry it hurts His heart and He weeps too. When we mourn our blessing is the comfort only God can give. He gives us comfort because He knows how we feel and we should mourn to help them make it through. As a nation we mourn this Christmas because 27 families are missing someone they love. We mourn together and these wounds will heal because we find comfort in knowing they are with the Lord. Jesus made them new again because He makes things new. Why do you think Jesus was a carpenter? So He could make new things or make old things new again. Everything that exists is nothing new to God. What is was already in generations before us and what we do will be again in the ages after us (Ecclesiastes 1:9-11). Nothing man can do God hasn’t already seen happen. Man sees time as a line from beginning to end but God views it differently. He sees time as a circle with Him standing in the center watching it all happen at once. Nothing is new that he didn’t first see in this circle of life.

There is something new that is not under the sun. He is the Son and nothing is new without Him. In the beginning before all things were created Jesus was there with God speaking and creating everything new. Jesus is the new maker guy. He is making all things new so there is nothing new under the Son of God that wasn’t made because of His creation. The circle of life began with Him telling the light to shine in the darkness bringing to light everything needing to be made new (John 1:1-5). Jesus is the new thing! We know that the way He sees time is true because the proof is prophecy. Hundreds of years before Christ they were telling of something new coming to restore relationship with God. Christ the one new thing on earth would come and be born as a baby to restore God to a people who would be His daughter (Jeremiah 31:22). Christ brought the new way for the world to come to God so we wouldn’t have to do things like they were done before. We can put it to rest because Christ made a new way in our desolation for us to come to God (Isaiah 43:18-19). Each of us who believe are under the new covenant created by Christ’s shed blood. The old laws of sacrifice are obsolete because they were replaced with something new. The new sacrifice of God’s Son replaced the need for the blood of sheep, goats and rams to cleanse us from sin. What goats and rams could not do the new thing, Jesus did it for us (Hebrews 8:13). Jesus Christ the new maker guy is making all things new. He is the Son and nothing less than Him can truly be new because through Him it all was made. Everything we see new He seen before. The only new thing is Jesus being born to die for our sins so He could live again and be in us (Revelation 21:5). Joy to the World! The Lord has Come.

We will be expanding the reach of Tuesdays Torch to shine our light so others can see it and be saved.  We pray the words of this Tuesdays Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers.  Please feel free to forward The Torch to others so we can encourage them with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that could benefit from the sharing Tuesdays Torch please let us know so together we can spread the light into dark places. We pray the Lord will continue touching every reader. All of what Christ did He did so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesdays Torch we talk a little more about what He did and talk about what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was sending us His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer our prayer is that they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: tuesdaystorch@gmail.com and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!

Blessed are you who enter in God’s name—from God’s house we bless you! God is God, he has bathed us in light.  Psalm 118:26-27

Tuesdays Torch week 207

Tuesday’s Torch

12/18/12

By: Tim Sader

 Matthew 19:14

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Last week we learned that we gained access to God through Christ when He paid the price for our sins. Through grace we were given access to truth, life and all the goodness of God. These days we need access to do many of the things we enjoy doing from driving a car to checking email. Only experts and those close to the king had access to him. We have special access to consult our King because we have faith in His Son. If we serve Him we have access with the heavenly hosts to help govern them. Through Him we also have access to the Spirit who will guide us in what we should be doing. The church is where the world comes to access God so we must clearly access the Lord so they can find Him. We can boldly go to the throne and ask of God because in Christ we have special access to the King of heaven. He hears us when we cry out to Him. When we mourn He mourns and when we cry He cries with us. God does not like to see us sad it breaks His heart when evil seems to prevail over good. When everything is stacked against us He is there waiting to help us when we hurt. He accepts our prayers and hears our weeping and since we have access to Him; He will answer (Psalm 6:6-9). He hears us crying for the little children who lost their lives last week it broke His heart like it did ours to see such horror. But He called them to Him for a higher purpose and they are with Him because His kingdom belongs to them and the innocent.

People often wonder how could a loving God let such a terrible thing happen but we forget our great God has a enemy that wants to take Him down. The enemy comes accusing us before His throne waiting for God in a moment like the one at Sandy Hook to step in and take away our choice to serve Him. This kindles Gods anger, He takes no pleasure in kids dying like this but He cannot let it get the best of Him. This is why He does not remain angry but instead gives to us His favor that gets past our troubles and offers us comfort after the weeping (Psalm 30:5). If God lost His temper all would be lost. The Lord sees our sadness in the loss of our loved ones it troubles Him deeply to see us sad. Jesus Himself wept when Lazarus died because He loved him to felt the pain of those who were missing someone they loved (John 11:33-36). In our mourning we are not alone because He is deeply troubled. We are blessed when we mourn though because we will receive comfort to help us trough our night of mourning (Matthew 5:4). Like the Lord we should rejoice when there is rejoicing and we should mourn with those who mourn. Christ mourned when Lazarus died because He wept with those who mourned (Romans 12:15). As a nation we have done this. The atrocities that happened to those children touched every good heart in this land. Even our president was broken and in tears over this. We can come together when we are down. We can mourn with them while they mourn and together receive comfort knowing those little angels went to Jesus and are now safe in His loving arms.

We will be expanding the reach of Tuesdays Torch to shine our light so others can see it and be saved.  We pray the words of this Tuesdays Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers.  Please feel free to forward The Torch to others so we can encourage others with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that could benefit from the sharing Tuesdays Torch please let us know so together we can spread the light into dark places. Tuesdays Torch week 206

Tuesday’s Torch

12/11/12

By: Tim Sader

 John 14:6

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Last week we learned that we are ambassadors to the kingdom of God through Christ. We got the power of the King where ever we go so we can represent Him in the right way. The message we carry is the message of hope and salvation to all who believe in His great love. Christ showed us in His life what ambassadors should be doing. We are not above our master so if we do what He does we will be blessed and the world will see Him in us. We do this by being gentle, kind, compassionate and forgiving each other like He forgave us. Mostly we must show His love it brings us into unity so we can better be ambassadors to the King. God made His plea for us so we could be justified by Christ taking the punishment so we would not be guilty of sin. Through Christ we are made kings but only He can be King because the honor and glory belongs to Him. Being justified in Christ we are now ambassadors through faith. In it we are now at peace with God and through grace we have an all access pass to receive all good things from Him. This access is why we boast about Him. We have a new hope in His glory so we should boast all the more in our Lord (Romans 5:1-2). Jesus is the way we get there our allegiance is to Him and without Him there is no access to God. We all must have access to enter into the truth and life that can only be found when we find Christ.

In society we deal with needing access to do many of the things. To go see a concert we need a ticket, to make a call we need a phone and to check email we need a password. Receiving medical care, cashing a check, driving a car or going to another country means we need proper identification to have access. Imagine trying to see the president without access, it would be a disaster. In Persia only the experts and those closest to the king had access to Him (Esther 1:13-14). God wants us to consult Him with matters concerning us so He offered us special access to come to Him. Our access is faith in Jesus who died and rose again so we could have a pass to the kingdom of God. An ambassador is an expert at following the ways of Christ. If we chose to serve Him we have access among the hosts of heaven where we will help govern (Zechariah 3:7). All of us who have been reconciled know the message of peace preached making us one body through Christ. That one Spirit that brought us together is now the Spirit we have access to through our faith in Him (Ephesians 2:17-18). Christ followed what the Spirit was doing so we find access to the Spirit through Him and the Spirit will be our guide. The church is called to be where the world comes to receive the wisdom of God. We are the rulers and authority of the courts in heaven if we follow the way of the Lord. This access only is accomplished through Jesus. Through Him we can boldly access the throne of God without guilt or shame and He will welcome us like we are a close friend (Ephesians 3:10-12). We are all experts at something so God has given us special access if only we will accept His Son.

We will be expanding the reach of Tuesdays Torch and transitioning it into other forms to shine my light so others can see it and be saved.  We pray the words of this Tuesdays Torch and every Torch will sink into readers hearts and minds as they go about their busy week.  Please feel free to forward The Torch to others so it can reach more people with its message of encouragement. If there are any churches or ministries that could benefit from the sharing Tuesdays Torch please let us know so together we can spread the light into dark places. We pray the Lord will continue touching ever reader. All of what Christ did He did so we would believe in who He is. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what he did (John 14:11). Every Tuesdays Torch we talk a little more about what He did and testify to what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was sending us His only son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer our prayer is that they will meet the Lord so He can transform them. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: tuesdaystorch@gmail.com and we will help it happen. Tuesdays Torch week 205

Tuesday’s Torch

12/04/12

By: Tim Sader

 2 Corinthians 5:20

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Last week we learned that reconciliation restored us so we could be made one new humanity in Christ. He prayed we would be one as He and the Father are one so we must put aside differences to be one body of God. Each of us are unique in our own way and it’s by embracing these differences that we find our role in this body we belong to. Our differences used to separate us from being children of God but through Christ we have been made one humanity with them. Though we are all different the peace of God makes us equal. No one group, race or gender can separate us from being children of God. Somewhere in this God puzzle we fit with one another in perfect unity so we can do what Jesus prayed we would do. Each of us are ambassadors to the kingdom of God. Where ever we are we go with the full power of the kingdom we represent. In foreign lands we have immunity because we belong to another power and our allegiance is to Him alone. We have the power of the King so that when we go into other nations we can be His representative. God made us messengers by giving us the authority in Christ to proclaim the gospel and tell the nations of His great love. Through our reconciliation we are made the righteousness of God so we can represent Him in the right way (2 Corinthians 5:20-21).

After Christ had risen from the dead He told us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all of creation. Those who believe in the message we preach they will be saved and baptized but if not they condemn themselves (Mark 16:15-16). We deliver the message King Jesus sent us out to preach they accept the decree or oppose the King. Christ was the example of what His ambassadors should be doing. A servant is no greater than his master and a messenger not greater than the sender. If we will do what He did we will be blessed so we can continue doing what He does (John 13:15-17). Being ambassadors means we have been chosen by God to bring the world a message of good news and hope. We do this by showing them what Christ showed us to be. We should put on gentleness, compassion, humility, patience and be kind to others like He was to us. We should forgive one another a bear with one another when we disagree because the Lord forgave us when we said yes to Christ. Most of all we must show others love because love binds us all together in perfect unity so we can be perfect ambassadors for our King (Colossians 3:12-14). God has made His appeal through us by having the sympathy to vindicate us through Christ who took our punishment for sin. We have been justified through Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. By taking our punishment he became our witness to God telling Him we’re not guilty because he loved us and saved us from our guilt. He is ruler over us but Him in us makes us kings of the earth. Through our kingship we are a kingdom of priests spreading a message of love to all of creation (Revelation 1:5-6). All honor and glory to our King who made us ambassadors to help build the kingdom He wants to reign.

I will be working on expanding the reach of Tuesdays Torch and transitioning it into other forms to shine my light so others can see it and be saved.  I pray the words of this Tuesdays Torch and every Torch will sink into your hearts and minds as you go about your busy week.  Please feel free to forward The Torch to others so it can reach more people with its message of encouragement. If you are involved in churches or ministries that could benefit from the sharing Tuesdays Torch please let me know so together we can be torch bearers to carry this flame into dark places. I pray the Lord will continue touching each of your lives. If anyone is not a believer my prayer is that you will meet the Lord so He transform your life. If it’s on your heart to make Jesus Christ your Savior send a message to: tuesdaystorch@gmail.com and we will help you do that.
