Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.
Last week we learned that when we weep or mourn we are not alone. Jesus wept when he was sad and we should weep with others too. God hears us crying from heaven; He hates to see bad things happen but through it He is there waiting to help. It is no doubt Jesus wept when those children died in Connecticut but on the other side he welcomed them with open arms. God does not cause evil to happen. The enemy does it to tempt God hoping He will lose control and become less of Himself. His focus is helping us when we are sad because when we cry it hurts His heart and He weeps too. When we mourn our blessing is the comfort only God can give. He gives us comfort because He knows how we feel and we should mourn to help them make it through. As a nation we mourn this Christmas because 27 families are missing someone they love. We mourn together and these wounds will heal because we find comfort in knowing they are with the Lord. Jesus made them new again because He makes things new. Why do you think Jesus was a carpenter? So He could make new things or make old things new again. Everything that exists is nothing new to God. What is was already in generations before us and what we do will be again in the ages after us (Ecclesiastes 1:9-11). Nothing man can do God hasn’t already seen happen. Man sees time as a line from beginning to end but God views it differently. He sees time as a circle with Him standing in the center watching it all happen at once. Nothing is new that he didn’t first see in this circle of life.
There is something new that is not under the sun. He is the Son and nothing is new without Him. In the beginning before all things were created Jesus was there with God speaking and creating everything new. Jesus is the new maker guy. He is making all things new so there is nothing new under the Son of God that wasn’t made because of His creation. The circle of life began with Him telling the light to shine in the darkness bringing to light everything needing to be made new (John 1:1-5). Jesus is the new thing! We know that the way He sees time is true because the proof is prophecy. Hundreds of years before Christ they were telling of something new coming to restore relationship with God. Christ the one new thing on earth would come and be born as a baby to restore God to a people who would be His daughter (Jeremiah 31:22). Christ brought the new way for the world to come to God so we wouldn’t have to do things like they were done before. We can put it to rest because Christ made a new way in our desolation for us to come to God (Isaiah 43:18-19). Each of us who believe are under the new covenant created by Christ’s shed blood. The old laws of sacrifice are obsolete because they were replaced with something new. The new sacrifice of God’s Son replaced the need for the blood of sheep, goats and rams to cleanse us from sin. What goats and rams could not do the new thing, Jesus did it for us (Hebrews 8:13). Jesus Christ the new maker guy is making all things new. He is the Son and nothing less than Him can truly be new because through Him it all was made. Everything we see new He seen before. The only new thing is Jesus being born to die for our sins so He could live again and be in us (Revelation 21:5). Joy to the World! The Lord has Come.
We will be expanding the reach of Tuesdays Torch to shine our light so others can see it and be saved. We pray the words of this Tuesdays Torch and every Torch will sink into the hearts and minds of readers. Please feel free to forward The Torch to others so we can encourage them with its message. If there are any churches or ministries that could benefit from the sharing Tuesdays Torch please let us know so together we can spread the light into dark places. We pray the Lord will continue touching every reader. All of what Christ did He did so we would believe. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what He did (John 14:11). Every Tuesdays Torch we talk a little more about what He did and talk about what He is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was sending us His Son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer our prayer is that they will meet the Lord. If anyone wants to make Jesus Christ their Savior send a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help it happen. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch. Thanks and God Bless!
Blessed are you who enter in God’s name—from God’s house we bless you! God is God, he has bathed us in light. Psalm 118:26-27
