He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!”Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Last week we learned about the cushion we have when times get tough and we fall along lives path. In the storm Jesus had a cushion because he trusted in God to get them through so in our troubles we can rest on Jesus and He will get us through. We all have had storms in our lives and the old mat we once laid upon will not support us the way Jesus does when we lay it all on Him. Not even death can hold us down on the mat when Jesus tells us to get up off of it. If we fall on our Jesus cushion we won’t be down long because when the righteous fall they get back up. Even His angels are sent to cushion our falls so our faith can get us through every storm. We must trade the old mat for the cushion we have in Jesus who saves, heals and sets us free. By choosing Jesus to be our savior we get rid of the old way we once lived and we live a life that is pleasing to God. If He is making all things new we are made new because we are all part of all things. In Jesus we are new creatures the old man died with Him and the new man came to life when He was raised from the dead. We can trust that we will be made new because the Lord did not lie when He told us we would be. His words are trustworthy so if He is making new thing we are new indeed.
Being new means we are not the same it is like we’ve been upgraded to a better model. Outside I still look the same as we all do when we receive the Lord but notice He is “making” everything new so He is still working on us. Many wonder why we are not instantly transformed in Christ if He makes all things new (2 Corinthians 5:17). There is no easy answer to this question I have come to find out while dealing with a muscle wasting disease and losing the abilities many take for granted. Honestly I can only use my arms from the elbow down, my neck and head so there’s very little I can do on my own. How am I made new? Well before I got dedicated to the Lord I did my own thing wasting away on television and video games. On the weekends I got drunk and felt unfulfilled. Now I am reaching out to the world with a story of hope in the Lord and my hands are being used in a new ways to inspire others. We are made new within our world and no it’s not perfect yet but He is making us new one step a time (Galatians 6:14-16). What we did in the past that is the old man of sin but in Christ we are not that man. What matters now is the new creation and if we live in this new way peace and mercy will be our company. The old self was corrupt we must take it off of us by having a good attitude and being ourselves made new. The new self is who God created us to be. In the Lord we are righteous and holy since He made us to be like Him (Ephesians 4:22-24). The old self is full of evil deeds, cursing, hate and lies. The new man should not do these things because we have been renewed and have the knowledge that He lives in us. We have been made to be like our Creator (Colossians 3:9-10). He put the newness in us so we can put the old man in the past and keep him there. If Christ is making everything new the old man is dead and we are made new creatures as we grow up in Him.
I will be working on expanding the reach of Tuesdays Torch and transitioning it into other forms to shine the light so others can see its shining and be saved. I pray the words of this Tuesdays Torch and every Torch will sink into your hearts and minds as you go about your busy week. Please feel free to forward The Torch to others so it can reach more people with its message of encouragement. If you are involved in churches or ministries that could benefit from the sharing of Tuesdays Torch please let me know so together we can be torch bearers to carry this flame into the dark places. I pray the Lord will continue touching each of your lives. All of what Christ did He did so we would believe in who He said He is. He told us not to believe because of what He said but in what he did (John 14:11). Every Tuesdays Torch we talk a little more about what He did and testify to what he is still doing. The best thing God has ever done was sending us His only son so we could be saved (John 3:16). If anyone is not a believer my prayer is that you will meet the Lord so He transform your life too. If it’s on your heart to make Jesus Christ your Savior send a message to: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you do that. Look out for next Tuesdays Torch by email or find it on Facebook by searching Tuesdays Torch or by clicking here also please share and like our page. Thanks and God Bless all of you!
Blessed are you who enter in God’s name—from God’s house we bless you! God is God, he has bathed us in light. Psalm 118:26-27
