Luke 14:27

And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

Last week we learned what Jesus said about us hating others He wants us even to love our enemies because there is no reward in only loving those who love you back.  God loves everyone and He cannot hate us He shows His kindness to the evil and good so to be like our Father we must learn to love even those we want to hate.  It is obvious we are in the end times since many believers are turning from the faith because of hatred, betrayal and false teachings.  These believers have let their love grow cold and they too are spreading hate like the world but if we are truly saved we will stand firm in love until the end.  We are all brothers and sisters in the Lord so when we hate we hate His family it is like we are stumbling around blindly in the darkness of hate when all we have to do is switch on the light of Gods love so we can see.  Hate if not dealt with is murder it often makes people kill and no one gets away with murder it ruins them by consuming their mind, locking them up or killing them.  We cannot hold on to a murderous spirit of hate if we hate others and say we love God we are liars because we can’t do both.  When we hate others we cannot love God who we haven’t even seen and if we had seen Him we would know how much he loves us all and we wouldn’t want to hate anymore.

To be a disciple a devoted follower of Christ we cannot hate either we must show His love and follow a few simple steps to properly serve Him.  In Mark 8:34-38 Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.  For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.  What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?  Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?  If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”  To be a disciple we must be willing to sacrifice and carry burdens the way Jesus carried His Cross and sacrificed His own life to save all mankind.  We must be willing to sacrifice it all for the higher calling of the Lord we cannot put anything before our relationship with Him because He is in control.  Nothing we hold onto besides Him can save our life but if we will sacrifice our life to follow Him and His word it will save us.  If we believe in Him we are called to serve Him and only He can save our soul if we will not follow Him we forfeit our own souls for whatever cannot save us.  In this perverse and wicked world if we are ashamed to follow the Lord really what is greater to follow so if we are ashamed of Him we should be ashamed and will be when He returns.  Luke 14:26-27 says, “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his [own] father and mother [in the sense of indifference to or relative disregard for them in comparison with his attitude toward God] and [likewise] his wife and children and brothers and sisters—[yes] and even his own life also—he cannot be My disciple.  Whoever does not persevere and carry his own cross and come after (follow) Me cannot be My disciple.”  Here in the Amplified translation we see that we are to hate even our own families in comparison to how willing we are to serve the Lord.  No relationship, nothing we are, we gained or nothing we have should come between our relationship with God and our willingness to follow Him.  Sometimes in following Him the burdens and sufferings seem to pile up on us well Christ carried a cross and suffered much first so when our burdens seem to be too much remember He had to die before there could be a resurrection and we must be willing to die to ourselves so He can be raised up in us.

In John 15:8-10 Jesus says, “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.  As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.  If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.”  To be good disciples we are also commanded first to love and also we are to bear much fruit in doing these things we show that we are following Christ and that He is alive in us.  The Lord is not asking for us to do anymore than what the Son has already done He came to the world to love us by showing us the Fathers love just as we are to show Christ’s love to others.  Christ’s command is for us to remain in love like He showed us Gods love by taking upon Himself the burden of sin and carrying it on the cross He sacrificed it all so we could understand how we are to love.  Love is one fruit we should be bearing in ourselves so the world can taste and see the work of the Lord and what He has done for us so we can share it with them.  John 15:16-17 says, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit —fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.  This is my command: Love each other.”  If we believe in and follow Christ we did not chose Him, He has chosen us to follow Him and be His disciple so we could bear much fruit and share His love with others.  We are to bear good fruit that lasts it lasts by us spreading it around to others and once they have taken hold of Him and spread fruit to then it will last because we did not keep it for ourself.  If He has chosen us because He wants for us to bear fruit and if He loves us then the Father will give us what we ask for in Christ’s name.  To be a disciple ultimately we must love each other in doing this we will be a good disciple and will enter into true life when Christ is raised up in us.

I will be working on transitioning this study into both the written format on Tuesday and adding a spontaneous group discussion at my house or church if you’d be interested in attending let me know.  The church I attend is MorningStar in Fort Mill, SC you can view meetings by going to www.morningstartv.com where you can register for free then watch Friday School of the Spirit at 7pm EST and Sunday at 9 and 11am EST by clicking watch live at the top of the web screen.  Let the words spoken and the messages spread into your area share it with friends, loved ones and local believers to spread revival across the nation and around the world.  Also for those who don’t already forward the torch to others feel free to forward it to everyone on your buddy list, lets reach more people than ever before with its message.  Share it with your churches if you feel lead to. Thanks I pray the Lord will continue touching each of your lives.  All of what Christ did he did so we would believe in who he said he was.  He told us not to take his word for it but to believe in what he did according to the will of his father who showed him what to do.

I pray that this message will sink into your hearts and minds this week and if anyone is not a believer my prayer is they will meet the Lord.  If it’s on your heart to make Jesus Christ your Savior send a message to my email: trippy91@hotmail.com and I will help you do that.

Tuesday’s Torch

05/22/12

1 John 3:15

Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.

Last week we learned about what Jesus said concerning us making oaths and swearing to do things by what we cannot control.  Instead of making a promise to God that we are going to do such and such we should keep our word so that our own yes or no will mean something and we won’t make the Lord look like a liar.  By giving simple answers and speaking fewer words we sin less and are not guilty of making Him a liar and if we must say more then that then we need to work on keeping our own word more often.  A Yes or No answer is best you are not guilty to anyone or anything but you and since you control yourself if you lie and are condemned it is your own sin and we can take it up with the Lord.  Mankind has seen God move in many ways there is no greater than He so unlike Man what He promises to us will happen and nothing can reverse it.  Man sometimes seems to say both yes and no we might say we would like to do something then the time to do that thing happens and we don’t do it for whatever reason.  God cannot and will not do this He cannot lie so whatever the Lord says will happen just the way He said it would.  God is the Amen or So Be It that means every promise He makes He said so be it to that promise He made so find the promises relevant to your life, stand on those promises because in Him the answer is Yes and Amen.

Just like God is not a liar he does not hate actually He loves us all the same so when we hate others we don’t have love in us and we cannot serve God who first loved us.  Matthew 5:43-45 says, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’  But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”  We are told here quite plainly not to hate anyone even our enemies Jesus said to love and pray for when they persecute us.  By showing love even to those who deserve to be hated, who we consider to be ignorant, greedy, disgusting or nasty we show that our Daddy is God and He loves us all.  God loves us all the same the sun rises everyday and life goes on for both the good and the bad He is not up there shaking His fist, no He loves us and all He wants is for us love instead of hate.  Matthew 24:10-13 says, “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.  Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”  Recently I realized that we are in the days Christ is referring to and if they’re not my name is not Tim because these things are happening more than ever before.  Today a high percentage of Christians are leaving the church and the faith due to conflicts among themselves.  The wickedness in the world is bad and it is hard to love so the love of many is growing cold; hate is spreading like the plague and people are being deceived by all kinds of strange beliefs.  Hatred, betrayal and wickedness are not part of Gods plan He wants us to stand firm in our love until the end when our salvation will be complete.

1 John 2:9, 11 says, “Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness.  But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.”  Christ said that all who chose to follow Him are His brother or sister so every time we hate someone we are hating a brother or sister who Lord loves and wants to see in eternity.  When we hate we are walking around blindly in darkness we do not know where we are going because we will not use the light that has been provided.  Hate blinds us to the truth of Gods love just like flipping the switch on to see the light God is there waiting for us to turn on the love.  Today’s verse 1 John 3:15 says, “Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.”  When we hate others we are in the early stages of murder if we hate someone bad enough for long enough it will lead us into hating more until we justify doing away with the target of our hate.  Murder is one crime that we can never get away with if your caught doing it your hunted like a dog then put in a cage or buried.  If you murder and are not caught you still never get away with it because from now on you got to watch your back, you are torched with blood stained hands then if you keep hating you might murder again until you are caught, dead or kill yourself when your hate makes you hate you.  1 John 4:20 says, “Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.”  We cannot hate others if we claim to love God we can hate and say we love Him but we are liars because we cannot hate and love God to.  When we don’t love others we are liars since we cannot love others how can we love God when we haven’t even seen Him.  The God I serve is a God that loves everyone as equals He even loves us when we are lost in the darkness blinded by our own hate.

Tuesday’s Torch

James 5:12

Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.

Last week we learned about what Jesus said about us opening our minds to Him instead of filling it with the things of this world.  Sometimes we miss what the Lord is doing because our minds are waiting for Him to show up in familiar ways but the truth is He is waiting on us so we will notice Him every time He shows up so we can have an intimate encounter with Him.  After Jesus rose and Simon realized he seen Him on the road; when Christ appeared to the twelve they still thought He was ghost until they felt His wounds and started to believe.  Finally when He ate they all were sure of His rising and He showed them what He fulfilled in the scriptures this opened their minds and they better understood the Scriptures.  Them seeing Him freed their minds so they would know He had truly risen so they could carry that testimony to the nations so they could be saved.  The Lord He goes everywhere with us but often times we don’t know it’s Him walking with us because we are preoccupied or trying to decide whether we heard Him or not either way we missed Him when we let our mind get in the way.  The Lord has transformed our minds so we do not have to think like the world thinks when we open our minds to Him He shows Himself in us because in Him nothing is impossible.  We are in Christ so we have new minds since in Him we are made new so our minds are transformed when we learn who we are in Him and who He is in us.  We were made new when our sin was crucified with Him our flesh was crucified it died and we no longer live life in the flesh the life we now have is in Christ so our minds are in Him by the faith we have knowing that He saved us.  We got new minds if they been renewed in Christ because He loves us and wants for us to be like Him knowing the truth of who we are and who He is in us.

When we make promises or swear an oath that we are going to do something we do not know what might happen to keep us from doing that thing and when we cannot keep our word it makes us look bad because we had to lie.  We should keep our speech and answers simple so we will not be guilty of breaking an oath and making it seem that God lied.  Matthew 5:33-37 says, “Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’  But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King.  And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black.  All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.”  We have no real control over what happens in heaven, on earth or anywhere else we cannot even control our own life so how can we swear by something we cannot control.  When we keep our answers ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ we break nothing but our own word but we have not broken an oath we swore to keep in the sight of God making you and Him both a liar.  When we do answer yes or no it is important that we keep our word since all a man has is his word if we have to say more our word don’t mean much because it should speak for us and if it does not mean anything it’s evil.  Today’s verse James 5:12 says, “Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. All you need to say is a simple “Yes” or “No.” Otherwise you will be condemned.”  By our own words we are condemned so if we swear an oath we cannot keep and make God out to look like a liar, we are condemning ourselves we swore by something we could not control and if we cannot keep our oath we are condemned by breaking it.  A Yes or No answer is best you are not guilty to anyone or anything but you and since you control yourself if you lie and are condemned it is your own sin and we can take it up with the Lord.

Isaiah 43:12-13 says, “I have revealed and saved and proclaimed— I, and not some foreign god among you.  You are my witnesses, ” declares the Lord, “that I am God.  Yes, and from ancient days I am he.  No one can deliver out of my hand.  When I act, who can reverse it?”  God in many ways has been revealed to man He can be seen throughout all of creation, He sent His Son to save us so that by faith we would proclaim that He is our God.  We have been witnesses of God there is none greater than Him so what He says is what will happen no one can reverse His hand when and where He moves it to.  So when God makes a promise or swears an oath it happen because when He act it cannot be undone a promise is an action so it cannot be reversed.  2 Corinthians 1:15-20 says, “Because I was confident of this, I wanted to visit you first so that you might benefit twice.  I wanted to visit you on my way to Macedonia and to come back to you from Macedonia, and then to have you send me on my way to Judea.  Was I fickle when I intended to do this? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say both “Yes, yes” and “No, no”?   But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No.”  For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas and Timothy —was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.”  For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.”  Here Paul obviously wanted to stop in Macedonia on the way to where he was going on his way back but for whatever reason he couldn’t so in a way he is saying yes he wanted to but no he didn’t stop in Macedonia.  The message of Christ they had to share though it is not a message of Yes and No the way they said both in the same breath but in Him salvation and all the promises of God are yes because if God promised it it won’t be undone.  A name for God is the Amen that means “so be it” this says that His name means it has been done already so if it has been done the answer was yes so if it already happened it cannot be reversed.  Go through the bible find the promises that He gave to those who follow Him and stand on those promises because the answer already is Yes so it will be done like He said it would.

Tuesday’s Torch

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Last week we learned about what Jesus concerning fear and if He is with us than we have nothing to fear.  The disciples saw Jesus walking to them on the water but they thought he was a ghost and became afraid.  They almost missed experiencing an amazing miracle because they were afraid but the Lord wants us to be courageous so we don’t miss Him when He comes.  The disciples also were afraid when they were crossing the sea and there was a storm that Jesus was sleeping through.  The men feared they would drown but they woke Jesus and he calmed the storm so if Christ is in the boat with us we should not fear.  If we put our faith in Christ and will not fear we are His flock and He will lead us into the rich blessings of the masters kingdom.  We have not been given this spirit called fear; if we are in Christ we been given the power, love and a sound mind to overcome our fear.  Now we have been given the spirit of adoption because in Christ we are children of God and since he is love the spirit of fear has no power over us.  If we have let fear take hold of us then our faith is in question so we must let go of our fears and take hold of Gods love because in it there is no fear.  Christ is awake in all of us, He is on the boat telling us to be courageous God loves us He is our Father and fear cannot harm us and together with Him we can calm all lives storms.

We must learn to open up our minds to the Lord so that when he is speaking to us on the road we will know that it is Him before He does what is familiar to us and we miss out on our special time with Him.  On the road to Emmaus Simon and another man were walking and the risen Jesus started walking with them even talking to them about scripture and they could not recognize Him until He did what was familiar and broke bread with them.  They missed out on an intimate encounter with the Lord because in their mind He was dead and the dead don’t come back when Jesus told them He would be risen after three days but their mind kept them blind to the truth.  Luke 24:36-39 says, “While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”  They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost.  He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?  Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”  Even after everything they had learned about fear and after hearing such good news they were afraid when Christ came to them thinking He was a ghost that couldn’t harm them anyways.  Jesus questions why they still let doubt rise up in their minds when they were told the news of His rising and knew that no ghost would be walking with Simon down the road.  Their minds just would not believe until they could touch and see His wounds and feel that he had risen again in the flesh.  Luke 24:41-47 says, “And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”  They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence.  He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”  Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.  He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.  Even after touching the Lord they were so amazed it was still hard for them to believe so He ate some fish to truly show He is alive.  He then showed them in scripture where it was written about Him so they could know and understand He was the Christ and the scriptures proved Him to be true.  He opened their minds by revealing Himself to them again in the flesh so that when they took the message to the nations they would have the scripture and testimony that He in deed rose again and through Him all could be forgiven of their sins.

Often times the Lord is walking with us talking like he talks not hiding himself but our mind is on other things so we miss the intimate time with the Lord until we go to church where he is familiar and ask Him to be more real in our lives.  Well guess what He walks with you everywhere so open your mind and trust that he is there and he will be more real to you than ever before.  Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”  We do not have to conform our thinking to how the world sees things our God is a God of limitless possibilities so our mind should be transformed from a mind of flesh into a mind open to what God can do.  When we open our minds to the Lord we will understand Him better we will know His will and we will better be able to do what is right and acceptable to Him.  Today’s verse 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”  If we believe in Christ than we are in Him and He is in us: the old man we once were is passed away and we are made new in Christ.  Since all old things become new that means in Christ our minds are being transformed so our thoughts will conformed into thinking the way God would have us think so we can know His will.  Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”  We have been crucified with Him our flesh and sin was nailed to the cross with Him and it died when His flesh died and now Christ is alive in us.  Now where we once lived by the flesh we now live by faith knowing the Son of God laid His life down according to His great love so we could be transformed.  We must allow Christ in and know the sacrifice he made in His flesh so that our minds could be open to the truth of who He is and we could be made more like Him.

I will be working on transitioning this study into both the written format on Tuesday and adding a weekly or bi-weekly group discussion at my church if you’d be interested in attending let me know.  The church I attend is MorningStar in Fort Mill, SC you can view School of the Spirit meetings by going to www.morningstartv.com and register for free then watch Friday for School of the Spirit at 7pm EST and Sunday at 9 and 11am EST by clicking the watch live tab at the top of the web screen.  Let the words spoken and the message spread into your area share it with friends, loved ones and local believers to spread revival across the nation and around the world.  Also for those who don’t already forward the torch to others feel free to forward it to everyone on your buddy list, lets reach more people than ever before with its message.  Share it with your churches if you feel lead to. Tuesday’s Torch

05/01/12

By: Tim Sader

Luke 12:32

Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.

Last week we went back and looked at a classic torch about the strength of God I pray it helped you as it did me since I am in good health again, Praise God!  Previously we learned about what Jesus said concerning the paths we walk in life the narrow path is hard to follow but in the end that path is the only one that leads to life.  There are many number of paths that lead to destruction but we must walk the highwire to keep our eyes on the Lord and we will be able to carefully master the life path.  Few will choose to follow the narrow way but those who choose it will be saved since they made the effort to follow the right road.  There are many who will think they are on the right road because they were good but to enter the narrow gate we must follow Christ and let Him lead us.  There are many paths out there that claim to be the right one but give you no choice to follow or not the road to life and salvation is a choice those who find it find the Lord and through Him find life.  On the narrow road is the joy of His presence and to experience the Lord’s presence following the right path will be worth it.  The path of life leads upward for those who make the effort to follow Christ and are careful and remain on that road they will be full of joy and given true life.

When we follow the path that leads to life we can fully rely on God so we should have nothing to be afraid of.  Matthew 14:26-27 says, When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.  But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”  The disciples saw Jesus walking toward them on the lake they were scared since they had probably never seen a man walking on the water.  They thought He was a ghost and they cried out in fear thinking that somehow they would be harmed by seeing such a strange sight.  It really never tells us whether they knew it was Jesus or not but before he ever gets to the boat he tells them to have courage and to not be afraid.  If we know that Jesus will be coming to meet us soon and we see something strange happening it could be Jesus telling you to have courage because if you trust Him you don’t need to be afraid.  Luke 8:24-25 says, The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”  He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.  “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.  Many times the disciples had their faith tested at sea when first they think a ghost is going to get them then they fear the boat will go down during this storm.  Drowning truly is a rational fear if you go down during a storm chances are your not making it back to shore but they were not alone Jesus was with them and He calmed the storm.  So where is your faith?  If it’s in Jesus then He is with you on the boat so why fear?  If you call on Him He will wake up in you and calm your storms.  Today’s verse Luke 12:32 says, “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.”  We should not fear we are the flock of the good shepherd He is watching over us and He wants to keep us in the fold so we can stay in the flock and be blessed.  God is pleased when we let Christ come alive in us through faith we choose to follow Him without fear and we gain access to the kingdom of impossibilities where we do not need to fear what is strange or natural since the Lord is on the boat with us.

2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  The power we have been given is the power of Christ and kingdom of God inside of us so we can overcome every challenge without fear.  Notice also that God has not given us a spirit of fear so then if fear is a spirit it cannot influence us unless we listen to it and let it in us.  So if fear is tormenting us it is a spirit trying to attack us it is not our fear it is a spirit we can take authority over it and through Christ the storm will be calmed.  Romans 8:15 says, “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.  And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”  Not only have we received power, love and a sound mind we have received the Spirit of adoption becoming sons and daughters through Christ.  We have not been made sons so we can be slaves to fear we been made sons because God loved us and there is no fear in love.  1 John 4:18 says, “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”  In love there is no fear so if we are sons in Christ we have nothing to fear, Father God is love so he drives out all fear.  If we hold on to fear we are not operating in true faith when the disciples were afraid He questioned their faith so when we fear our faith is in question to.  To let ourselves be made perfect in love we must learn to let go of fear, wake Jesus inside of us and he will calm our storm.  If Christ is in the boat all fear must go and we can rest with Him knowing with all certainty that God is watching over us and protecting us in the arms of His great love.

Look out for next Tuesdays Torch found on www.myspace.com/trippy91 or sent from trippy91@hotmail.com this study is written by Tim Sader inspired by The Holy Spirit.

Blessed are you who enter in God’s name—from God’s house we bless you! God is God, he has bathed us in light.  Psalm 118:26-27
