Tuesday’s Torch

Matthew 21:43

Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.

Last week we learned that Jesus referred to Himself as the bread of life because He gave us life and our spirits must feed off Him to live.  We must seek the Lord daily so our soul can be filled with Him or our spirit starts to go hungry and begins to die.  After feeding 5,000 many still did not believe in who Christ claimed to be so he used the miracle to show that He is the one who supplies our needs and gives us life.  When we seek Christ to be our bread there is always enough and it is fresh every morning so we can collect Him new every day since He is the manna God sent to us from heaven.  Unlike manna Christ is the bread of eternal life when our spirit feeds on Him we will not die and He is available to all who need to feed.  He gave His flesh by having it broke into pieces so the whole world can be filled up with Him so they can live.  One way we enter into the suffering of Christ is through communion which we do to remember what He did if we will not eat or drink His life is not in us.  It is through remembering Christ, following His example and doing what He says that our spirit needs to be filled with His flesh.  Christ is our bread of life if we will remember Him and see Him as our source we will not be hungry and our souls will be satisfied.

If he is the bread of our life we are being good faithful tenants occupying the land until He returns for the work we produce.  Matthew 21:33-35 says, “Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place.  When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit.  The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third.”  God the land owner gave us the earth as our garden to cultivate He chose a people out of all the earth to put a wall around and watch over.  These people are the ones who the vineyard was rented to so they could be His representatives while He was away preparing to send His Son.  Many times harvest time came and the Lord sent servants to them to see if he could collect the fruit of their labor by sending them prophets, kings and priests but they rejected the servants so they could do their own thing.  Matthew 21:36-40 says, “Then he sent other servants to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way.  Last of all, he sent his son to them. ‘They will respect my son,’ he said.  But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and take his inheritance.’  So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”  The Lord gave these people chance after chance to produce fruit and to follow after Him.  He kept sending servants to turn them back to Him but they would not follow their advice but rejected them the same.  After sending these servants He finally sent His son to the tenants to see what had happened to the servants so he could straiten everything out.  They could see this was the masters son because He was taking care of business but they even plotted to and killed Him because they didn’t accept Him.  They thought by killing him they could steal His inheritance when all they have to do is serve Him and show good fruit and He’d share it with them to.

Matthew 21:41-42 says, “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,” they replied, “and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants, who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time.”  Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?  Those who were evil and rejected the master’s son they will be brought to a terrible end the Lord will not let them reject the son and let them have the inheritance.  Instead because of the slaughter of His son the master will find new tenants who will produce good fruit and faithfully share it with the Lord when the harvest is ready.  The stone that was rejected was Christ and because they rejected Him He would be made the cornerstone and the tenants will build on Him.  Today’s verse Matthew 21:43-44 says, “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.  Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”  The Kingdom of God does not belong to those who will not serve the master it will be taken from them and given to them who will produce fruit and are not evil.  Christ is the stone we fall on when we are broke to pieces or else we did not choose Him and the stone we rejected is the one that will crush us. In Galatians 5:22-23 it says the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  If we will make an effort to serve the landowner diligently by accepting His son into our lives and by producing fruit we will share in the inheritance to.  The fruit we produce is the fruit of the Spirit and most importantly we should be producing love because in it we conquer all and we fulfill the command of God.

I will be working on transitioning this study into both the written format on Tuesday and adding a weekly or bi-weekly group discussion at my church if you’d be interested in attending let me know.  The church I attend is MorningStar in Fort Mill, SC you can view School of the Spirit meetings by going to www.morningstartv.com and register for free then watch Friday for School of the Spirit at 7pm EST and Sunday at 9 and 11am EST by clicking the watch live tab at the top of the web screen.  Let the words spoken and the message spread into your area share it with friends, loved ones and local believers to spread revival across the nation and around the world.  Also for those who don’t already forward the torch to others feel free to forward it to everyone on your buddy list, lets reach more people than ever before with its message.  Share it with your churches if you feel lead to. Thanks I pray the Lord will continue touching each of your lives.  All of what Christ did he did so we would believe in who he said he was.  He told us not to take his word for it but to believe in what he did according to the will of his father who showed him what to do.

I pray that this message will sink into your hearts and minds this week and if anyone is not a believer my prayer is they will meet the Lord.  If it’s on your heart to make Jesus Christ your Savior send a message to my email: trippy91@hotmail.com and I will help you do that.

Tuesday’s Torch

03/20/12

John 6:51

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Last week we learned what Jesus said about us being born again by the Spirit of God and how we can get a heavenly perspective.  Jesus was somewhat surprised to hear the teacher, Nicodemus didn’t understand being born again considering the fact that He gave an open declaration of His deity and was responsible for many miracles.  The religious bunch could not accept that Christ came to save them so if they could not see this with physical eyes in the earth how would they understand the heavenly concept of being born again.  Only Christ had the perspective of heaven because only He had been there so if they could not see and believe in His power they would not be born again.  For us to be born again Christ had to be lifted up on the cross like Moses lifted the snake in the wilderness to heal the people and give them eternal life.  When we get saved Christ comes to live in us and we get a heavenly perspective in our spirit and before Him we only knew what is reality here on earth but with God there are no limits.  Like the word and the Spirit of God lead Christ to do good the same Spirit with no limit will lead us so we can do good and give others a glimpse into heavenly places.  Eternity is the reward of all believers and its our job to reach into heaven by the spirit to bring it down to others so they can see Christ and he can be their sacrifice to.  Be sure you have things strait with the Lord so you can share eternity and have a new perspective of everything.

To keep this perspective we need to serve the Lord daily because He is the bread of life and we must collect Him like fresh manna to get from Him what we need each day.  In John 6:35-40 then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.  But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe.  All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.  For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.  And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.  For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”  Christ is our source of life He is who our soul seeks daily to be filled and without seeking this bread daily our spirit goes hungry and starts to die.  As we already know many had seen the Lord when he did the works of God in their midst even here in this passage He just feed 5,000 and Christ still said some didn’t believe.  After multiplying the loaves they should have seen their every need could be supplied in the power He had from God.  Like the loaves supply was overflowing all who seek Christ the bread of life will not go away unsatisfied because there is enough of Him for us all.  Like manna Christ came down from heaven to fill His people with Himself so none of them would be lost.  Everyone who eats of this bread of life will by believing in Christ have eternal life and they will be raised with Him again on the last day.

John 6:47-51 says, “Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.  I am the bread of life.  Your ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness, yet they died.  But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which anyone may eat and not die.  I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”  Christ is the bread of life because His bread gives eternal life so unlike the manna that sustained Israel in the wilderness Christ gives us life that will last forever so that we never die.  He has made Himself available by coming down from heaven so our spirit can be filled with His flesh that was broke into pieces so we could have a piece of that bread and be forever filled.  He gave His flesh to us by getting it ripped from His body and going to the cross so He could give life to all the world when they believe in Him.  Jesus said to them, InJohn 6:53-57 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.  Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.  For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.  Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.  Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.”  If we will not enter into the sufferings of Christ by eating His flesh and drinking His blood we have not entered into communion (common union) with Him because He has not filled us.  When we do commune with Him we are to do it in remembrance of Christ and the price He paid.  We eat this bread by remembering Christ not only that He died but we remember His teachings, miracles and the example He gave us to live by.  The Father Himself was Christ’s bread of life He only came to do the will of the Father and the Father was the source so His Spirit was never hungry.  Christ is our bread of life if we will remember Him and see Him as our source we will not be hungry and our souls will be satisfied.

Tuesdays Torch week 167

Tuesday’s Torch

03/13/12

John 3:13

No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.

Last week we learned what Jesus said about us asking the Lord for things and knowing our requests are heard by Him.  Not only does He hear us when we seek Him He answers all requests in accordance to His will and so we get exactly what we needed.  What we ask for is what we get and if we seek in the Lord we will find what we were seeking and if we knock on the door of heaven it will be opened to us.  We must understand the Lord is Lord of all so whatever we are in need of He can and will be faithful to supply all our needs.  God gives what we ask of Him because He is a good God that loves us and He wants us to have good things.  Even our own fathers in most cases love us and would only give us good things so of course we know our Heavenly Father will give us good gifts.  God has so much to offer us from His riches in glory He has shown man His love for them in the great things he has done and by sending to us Christ His Son.  We could receive no greater gift!

Christ was sent to us from heaven and was born as a man so He could be tempted in every way but never sin and than being sinless he took all the sins of the world on Himself so we can be saved.  InJohn 3:10-15 “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?  Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony.  I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?  No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.  Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”  Here Jesus just told Nicodemus about becoming born again but he does not understand the concept and questions Christ.  Being a teacher Jesus was a bit taken back by Nicodemus not having more knowledge of the spirit of man and how this is possible.  Christ openly gave testimony of who he is while reading scripture and they had already seen Him do miracles but still they questioned and would not accept those things.  After all they heard and witnessed on the earth already could not make them believe so how can He explain heavenly things to them when they could not see it with their own eyes.  The Lord only had gone into heaven so only He had a heavenly perspective and for Him to show He had power from heaven He did miracles to bring heaven to us so we would believe he is the Son of God.  Than just like Moses lifted the snake in the wilderness to give life Christ after showing He was from heaven had to be lifted up upon the cross so he could be a sacrifice for our sins and give us eternal life.

Now if we believe in the Son for what He has done for us we are born again and the spirit takes over and we get a heavenly perspective in Christ.  John 3:31-36 says, “The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all.  He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.  Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful.  For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.  The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands.  Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”  Christ is the one who is above all, He is the only begotten Son of God and we are from the earth and without Christ all we know is of the earth.  Christ being above all has made testimony of what heaven must be like many would not accept Him but those who do accept believe Christ and know that God is true.  Christ spoke the word of God as it was revealed to Him and He was often moved by the Spirit to do good because in the Spirit there are no limits.  We to now have been born of the Spirit by believing in Christ so the limitless Spirit is in us so we now are on the earth but our new perspective is heavenly since the spirit belongs to Christ.  If we believe in Christ eternity is our reward, we no longer belong to the earth and we been placed in the hands of Christ who loved us enough to die and replace our sins.  Be sure you have not rejected this gift of salvation believing in Christ is the road to eternal life but rejecting this only leads to wrath and a few wasted breaths.

Tuesdays Torch week 166

Tuesday’s Torch

03/06/12

By: Tim Sader

Matthew 7:8

For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Last week we learned what Jesus said about us being the salt of the earth spreading the flavor of God everywhere we go.  If we believe in Him we are salt and a friend of mine said we are salt and we are supposed to make people thirsty for the Lord.  When we stray away and don’t serve Him we lose our salty flavor and cannot make others thirsty so we have very little value and are thrown out.  To stay salty we must do good because salt is good so when we do the right thing we keep our flavor.  Christ went around doing good he was full of salt and because He is the source of the salt in us we should be at peace with others and spread His flavor.  When we give to the Lord or make a covenant with Him it should be done with the right aditude so it is seasoned right and has good flavor to the Lord.  Our offerings being sprinkled with salt means we gave to the ministries affected with the right flavor and we are blessed with peace for putting salt on what we gave.  David had good flavor to the Lord because he always trusted Him and for the most part he did the right thing so since he stayed salty the Lord blessed his line with kingship that remains still in Christ our King.  If we have accepted Christ we have entered into a covenant with the Lord and Christ being our saltiness means we have His flavor so we should sprinkle Him wherever we go until they are properly seasoned.

If we have His flavor that means we trust in Him to do what we ask Him to when we pray according to His word.  Matthew 7:7-8 says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”  Whatever we need from the Lord we must understand that He is the one who can supply our needs.  When we ask He is faithful to answer and when we seek something in Him we find what we are looking for.  If there are any doors closed to you He will open those doors and you will walk right through them.  Everyone who asks, seeks or knocks in the Lords direction will be heard from heaven and will receive what they need from God.  Matthew 7:9-12 says, “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone?  Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?  If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!  So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”  What we ask of the Lord he gives according to His word and because God is good and he loves us what He gives us will be a good thing.  Since God is so much higher than our father here on earth who loves us and only gives us good things how much more will our Heavenly Father give to us?  He will give us so much more than we could ever want, hope or desire He created us so who would know better than Him what we need.
