Matthew 25:29

For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away.

Last week we learned what Christ said concerning what defiles us and what we can do guard ourselves against sin.  What enters into us has no power to corrupt us unless we allow it to enter our hearts and come back out of us as sin in various forms.  We must learn to process what we take in like our bodies process food only taking what it needs to survive and the rest comes out as waste.  Many people are so concerned with what they allow into themselves and yes we can be influenced by these thing but sin comes out of the heart it cannot enter us unless we let it.  We should only store good things in our heart so only good will come out of us or else the evil that defiles us will come out and we will be showing that we are evil.  To keep evil from defiling our hearts we must control our thoughts so only the ones that don’t belong are removed before they get in our heart.  We must watch closely what enters our heart so sin doesn’t get in there and corrupt it.  Out of the heart comes the issues of life so what issues are coming out of yours?  If your issues defile you return to the Lord and receive forgiveness if there is only goodness in there be diligent to keep it there so sin cannot defile you.

To help us stay undefiled we should keep ourselves busy using the resources the Lord has blessed us with to help others and expand His Kingdom.  Matthew 25:14-18 says, “For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them.  To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey.  Immediately the one who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and gained five more talents.  In the same manner the one who had received the two talents gained two more.  But he who received the one talent went away, and dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.”  To understand this first we must know that a talent is an amount of money equal to about 15 to 20 years of daily wages.  This was more money than these servants would likely see in their lifetime but the master saw their abilities and wanted to make an investment into their future.  They all knew their master and did not want to waste His money so they all did with what they thought was right.  Matthew 25:19-21 says, “Now after a long time the master of those slaves came and settled accounts with them.  The one who had received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted five talents to me. See, I have gained five more talents.’  His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.”  The one with two talents also doubled his talents and the master said well done and gave him praise for being faithful.  The master was pleased with the slaves because they used their abilities to gain more wealth than what the master gave them.  Because these slaves were faithful with what they were given the master will trust them with more and they will share in his joy.

Matthew 25:24-25 says, “And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you scattered no seed.  And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.”  The slave given the least saw that the master had all this land and knew how wealthy he was since it seemed like he received all the profit but didn’t work for it.  He hid the money because the master had so much money and if he lost the money than the master would get mad.  He let his thoughts get the best of him so instead of using his ability to bring the master more wealth he kept the wealth and his abilities did nothing good.  Matthew 25:26-28 says, “But his master answered and said to him, ‘You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed.  Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest.  Therefore take away the talent from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.”  The slave knew the master and knew that he invested his wealth into what would bring more wealth to him.  For this same reason he gave his wealth to this slave, he saw the slave had abilities so he invested into the slave so the slave would use his ability to make more wealth.  Matthew 25:29-30 says, “For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away.  Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”  We all have abilities that we are born with and the Lord our master sees those abilities and will invest Himself into us if we will use our ability to bring Him glory and spread His message of love.  When we are faithful to use our abilities to bring Him more wealth He will trust us with more and say well done and we will enter into joy with Him.  If we are lazy and will not use our abilities for the Lord those abilities are wasted and the Lord sends His wealth to someone who will use it for Him and they will receive what was meant for you.  When we don’t use what we have we will lose it all we were worthless to the master because we would not use our abilities to glorify Him and we will be cast away if we will not be faithful to use what he blessed us with.  Christ labored hard for us when he was here to earn His talent so lets not bury the talent he gave us to use our ability to spread His love.

I will be working on transitioning this study into both the written format on Tuesday and adding a weekly or bi-weekly group discussion at my church if you’d be interested in attending let me know.  The church I attend is MorningStar in Fort Mill, SC you can view School of the Spirit meetings by going to www.morningstartv.com and register for free then watch Friday for prophetic training and healing ministry tune in at 7pm EST and Sunday at 9 and 11am EST by clicking the watch live tab at the top of the web screen.  Let the words spoken and the message spread into your area share it with friends, loved ones and local believers to spread revival across the nation and around the world.  Also for those who don’t already forward the torch to others feel free to forward it to everyone on your buddy list, lets reach more people than ever before with its message.  Share it with your churches if you feel lead to. Thanks I pray the Lord will continue touching each of your lives.  All of what Christ did he did so we would believe in who he said he was.  He told us not to take his word for it but to believe in what he did according to the will of his father who showed him what to do.

I pray that this message will sink into your hearts and minds this week and if anyone is not a believer my prayer is they will meet the Lord.  If it’s on your heart to make Jesus Christ your Savior send a message to my email: trippy91@hotmail.com and I will help you do that.

Look out for next Tuesdays Torch found on www.myspace.com/trippy91 or sent from trippy91@hotmail.com this study is written by Tim Sader inspired by The Holy Spirit.

Blessed are you who enter in God’s name—from God’s house we bless you! God is God, he has bathed us in light.  Psalm 118:26-27
